The Blog Without A Catchy Name. What’s It All About? Two Books I Couldn’t Put Down: Good On Ya. August 25, 2008 · 10:30 pm. Only I Didn’t say “Fudge”…. This way of keeping track of what I am reading is not working for me either. I gave up on Library Thing. As I started them but continue to fail to keep them updated. And now I have failed with the blog-a-book idea, too. I guess it’s back to pen and paper. Maybe I just need a secretary…. Filed under I Got Nothin'. One response to “. Enter your comment here.

Endangered Ugly Things: They Call Him Flipper
http://endangered-ugly.blogspot.com/2011/12/they-call-him-flipper.html
Saturday, December 10, 2011. They Call Him Flipper. Dolphins are charismatic, no question about that. They play, they learn, they do amazing acrobatics. Their smiling faces draw people to aquatic parks worldwide. The freshwater dolphins have gotten some press lately, but they aren’t the prettiest dolphins around. I suppose the Gharial. Like snout on the Ganges River Dolphin ( Platanista gangetica. The Ganges River Dolphin. As those silt-filled rivers are in some of the most densely human populated areas ...

Snaps north: Token photograph
http://snaps-north.blogspot.com/2008/12/token-photograph.html
The sadly neglected blog of an Alaskan geezerette. Thursday, December 18, 2008. Since I haven't posted one in a while, and I've gone and made the rash claim that this is an illustrated blog. Do you get to see the Northern Lights much? I'm guessing the answer is a resounding "duh! I live way North! But I don't know about these things living in the Midwest as I do). Endangered Ugly Things: Groundhog Day
http://endangered-ugly.blogspot.com/2010/04/groundhog-day.html
Sunday, April 25, 2010. Greg, also from Not Extinct Yet. Suggested that I write about the Blobfish. I really wanted to write about the Blobfish. If there’s any animal that could use a space on this blog, it’s the Blobfish. There’s really not enough information out there about it to get a full post out, though. My fiancée has been (strongly) suggesting a different animal since the Olympics in February. It’s somewhat cute, but in the end, it’s just a big Groundhog. Image from Simply Wild Canada. That breed...

Endangered Ugly Things: July 2011
http://endangered-ugly.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 23, 2011. I’ve tried to write about the Blobfish ( Psychrolutes marcidus. But gave up due to lack of information. It was first suggested. To me about a year and a half ago, and has been suggested a few times since then. I think I’ve found enough information about it and its close relatives to do it justice. First things first, though: the Blobfish does not. Look like a deflated Ziggy. Look like, this is a much better picture:. These fish, who now resemble their Sculpin brethren. Everyone s...

Endangered Ugly Things: June 2011
http://endangered-ugly.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 19, 2011. Trapped Under Ice - Metallica. For this month’s EUT, I was looking for an invertebrate in a new taxon. While I technically found one, “invertebrate” usually implies an animal. As to what it looks like… well… it looks like someone shoved a bottle of glitter up their nose, and then sneezed on a branch. This is a slime mold known only as Diacheopsis metallica. Scientists have found this aspect of slime molds absolutely fascinating. In this form, slime molds can solve mazes. Is a cold-...
