PBT and P.E.T. (Polyester). Although more expensive than most synthetic filaments, Polyester possesses qualities that justify its higher cost. It is extremely resilient and has probably the best recovery rate of all the synthetic fibres. Due to its negligible water absorption rate, there is little noticeable loss of rigidity when wet. It is ideal for technical brushes where low abrasion is important, and is also well suited to the manufacture of household brush ware, and also for paintbrushes.

PBT and P.E.T. (Polyester). Type 6, Type 6.6, Type 6.12. There are several grades of Nylon all with their own intrinsic properties. Nylon type 6 is the most economical grade. Specific gravity: 1.12gm per c.c. Water absorption: around 10% with some loss of rigidity. Temperature tolerance: resists boiling water, begins to deform at 120° C. Typical applications: Technical Brushes, Roller Brushes, Strip Brushes, Domestic Brushes. Nylon type 6.6 is stiffer and less abrasive than type 6.

PBT and P.E.T. (Polyester). Upgrading, or re-dressing of Natural Fibres greatly enhances the quality of the finished product. This process is especially suited to Coco Fibres, but is equally suitable for any natural fibre, such as Palmyra and Arenga. Our fibre dressing machines remove the dust and residue dyes which can cause break-downs and consequent filling machine down-time.
