Leading a Healthy Life

Leading a Healthy Life. Thursday, March 8, 2018. Pour Painting Made Easier. We did Pour Paint Art at the Stroke Recovery Art Group last month. I wrote about how much fun it was with Girl Guide Leaders. And I wanted to be able to do it with other groups. I tried it out a couple of times to figure out how to make it a little easier for our groups. 6 - 8 cups per participant (disposable cups are okay but should be more solid and not squish too easily). I made sure everyone had an old shirt or apron on.

Then 2 weeks off! I am in something like survival mode. How would you answer this final question? So what do you think? Links to this post. Sunday, December 8, 2013. Aside from...

Leading a Healthy Life: November 2014

http://leadingahealthylife.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Leading a Healthy Life. Monday, November 10, 2014. I already missed a day of work. I was supposed to work an extra shift on Halloween and I wound up at home vomiting instead. Holidays and parties are big deals for recreation programs with a lot of extra work so my not going will have been a problem to my co-workers. Besides- I wanted to go! What can you do? Wash your hands. Use hand sanitizers. Eat nutritious foods. Get plenty of rest and basically try to live as healthy a life as possible. I am working ...

Leading a Healthy Life. Thursday, March 26, 2015. Is there life out there? Grad is over, work is interesting and I have some new challenges and new ideas that I want to write about very soon. I don't want to leave that college part of my life without acknowledging all the wonderful people that I have met over the past two years. I want to share a Reba song. Here is to all the people who are trying to make a better life for themselves! Is There Life Out There". By Rick Gilesen Susan Long. She's never lear...

Warning: contains available light photography. Redoable life – putting the brain back together after a stroke. Recrudescence – to become raw again. February 24th, 2015. I haven’t on the blog for awhile because I’ve been on holiday. Well, if you count 365 plus days of time off as holidays. Truth is, I’ve been lazy. Then this week, there came fluttering into my inbox a personal message from Anu Garg of wordsmith.org. My personal word guru. He said unto me: Recrudescence. That is what I am doing. I should m...

Warning: contains available light photography. Redoable life – putting the brain back together after a stroke. Walking for science, discovering victims of violence or Plan C? December 4th, 2013. Me thinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow Henry David Thoreau. Well, I don’t need the discipline, thank you. Also I use a walking stick (not the medical variety, the country walking. Kind), because I also get an upper arm workout for my stroke-affected right side. We go one to two...

The Pink House on the Corner : Today

http://pinkhouseonthecorner.blogspot.com/2015/07/today.html

The Pink House on the Corner. Our Journey After Bob's Stroke. Friday, July 17, 2015. My friend, Lori, arrived late Wednesday and yesterday we went out to lunch and pretty much spent the day catching up. Today, she went with me to pick up Boomer's "cremains". I put Boomer's box of ashes, along with his collars, next to Bob and Zenith. My little memorial table grows cluttered. And then Lori removed Boomer's dog bed, anti-slip rugs, etc. from the living room because I could not bear to do it. I hope you and...

The Pink House on the Corner. Our Journey After Bob's Stroke. Friday, November 28, 2014. Unkinking The Garden Hose" and Other New Therapies. This trainer is exactly opposite and is taking things slowly. Starting with Bob's neck and what the PT calls "unkinking the garden hose":. The trainer also says that Bob is not ready to stand up and walk yet. He needs to work on strengthening all the individual muscles needed for the job first:. And this PT has not given up on Bob's paralyzed right arm/hand. I had t...

The Pink House on the Corner. Our Journey After Bob's Stroke. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. And Boomer is gone. Much like Bob, my other blonde boy, Boomer passed away in his sleep. This time, I was prepared, I guess, I knew and kissed Boomer goodnight, last night, and told him I loved him and he was a "good boy". Still it's hard. So very hard. July 15, 2015 at 9:46 AM. Diane, I am so sorry to hear about Boomer. Big hug! July 15, 2015 at 9:55 AM. Sorry for your loss. July 15, 2015 at 11:53 AM. Im so, so sorry.

The Pink House on the Corner. Our Journey After Bob's Stroke. Monday, October 27, 2014. So, I put The Green Machine up for sale. I tell you, this was not an easy decision. But I figured it was best for the car, you know, instead of sitting on the street and rusting to death. So I did it again. And again. And finally, the third time, it really did get posted. Finally, I gave up and slapped the sign under the windshield wipers. THE RADIO CAME ON FULL VOLUME AND NEARLY BUSTED MY EAR DRUMS OPEN! The next off...

http://pinkhouseonthecorner.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

The Pink House on the Corner. Our Journey After Bob's Stroke. Sunday, December 28, 2014. Thursday was Christmas Day, and that morning, while other folks were gathering around the tree opening presents, my day started out as usual, with me leaping barefoot out of bed to catch the feeding pump before the pump alarm goes off, then, on my way, slipping and sliding in a pile of wet dog poop. But alas, it was not meant to be, at least not yet. For not a half hour later, I hear a cry for "HELP! I mean, the thin...

The Pink House on the Corner. Our Journey After Bob's Stroke. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. So, I'm trying to decide which plot I've landed in - - comedy or tragedy? Here's the plot outline so far -. Heroine's beloved husband dies. Not even a month later, the beloved cat dies. Meanwhile, the old beloved dog is at death's door. Heroine gets a rescued yellow dog to cheer her up. Then promptly, heroine trips over said yellow dog and breaks her arm in two places. I'm not making this up. So which is it? I'm told I ...

Saturday, 2 January 2010. After 12 months of posts I've decided to pack in blogging on Leading A Guild. As hinted at in the Introduction. I've had a tonne of support from fellow writers and guild leaders, alongside a load of wikis plugging the site. Thank you everyone and you're always free to e-mail me. If you'd like to get in touch. Furthermore, specific plugs go to The Pink Pigtail Inn. Peace to all those people I sourced pictures from! Posted by Pierre Goldbloom. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Leading a Horse To Water. Telling the story of the human condition. Friday, 15 January 2016. When a knock came on his Chambers door all those thoughts were abandoned. Standing in his doorway was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, Evangeline Urbane. Time stood still and not for the first time with them. He said “Hello”. About ten (10) minutes later they were in her hotel room and Daniel again lifted her skirt and started kissing Evangeline. Happily she was now standing at the end of the bed, s...
