Danny Blank: Blog: Pipeline/Scripting
http://dannybouimad.blogspot.com/2012/12/pipelinescripting.html
Retro Blast Dev Blog. Righty-o I've gotten to the stage on this project where some really quick and basic animations need to be exported so the programmers can get a head start on sorting out the Pawn class in UDK. The process for exporting animation was. Merge the reference into the scene. Bake the animation on to the skeleton. Delete the control rig. Export all using a custom preset. BoneList = `ls -typ joint`;. Duplicate -rr -un;. LoadUnloadReference(0, 0);. Select -r ctrl MasterControl;. Open the exp...

Danny Blank: Blog: Back to basics
http://dannybouimad.blogspot.com/2013/11/back-to-basics.html
Retro Blast Dev Blog. I really wasn't happy at the level of animation I was producing so I've decided to start from the ground up with little test projects. I spent roughly an hour on both aiming for a balance of quality and speed. I'm not too happy with the cycle as it looks very stiff in the torso and the feet seem floaty. This was really fun to make especially on such a tight timescale. Other ways to find me. Super powered by Blogger.

Danny Blank: Blog: Skinning
http://dannybouimad.blogspot.com/2012/12/skinning.html
Retro Blast Dev Blog. I'd just quickly like to say whoever made referencing in Maya so good. You sir/mam need a medal. Right so, since I last posted a few things have happened. The rig has seen a few alterations, mainly I recreated the foot controls as I didn't like them, after which I and another team member moved onto skinning. Alas! Another problem as befallen the development of this game. But this then caused another problem. Moving bones on objects that have skinning is a no no. Due to referencing b...

Retro Blast Dev Blog. Lip - Sync Test. Little lip sync test I put together for a potential job opportunity, hopefully I get the job, either way I'm still going to finish off the extra 3 seconds of missing dialog and polish it to showreel quality. Spent 2 days / 24 working hours on this. Other ways to find me. Super powered by Blogger.

Danny Blank: Blog: UDK Import tutorial
http://dannybouimad.blogspot.com/2012/09/udk-import-tutorial.html
Retro Blast Dev Blog. Here's a small tutorial I made during the third year of my university studies, I found a way to import cameras between Maya and UDK for a more optimal cinematic workflow. This allows you to animate cameras in Maya and import them into UDK so in theory you can animate an entire cinematic in Maya and then send it and the character animation into UDK.
