Leeds Homebrew: LIBF Competition - Update (and a happy ending)

http://leedshomebrew.blogspot.com/2013/10/libf-competition-update-and-happy-ending.html

About Leeds Homebrew (PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR INFO). Friday, 4 October 2013. LIBF Competition - Update (and a happy ending). Sorry for the lack of activity on here recently - it seems as though everyone is busy with other things. At the festival, the beers from the respective homebrew groups were judged against each other, and in a marginal decision, Leeds vanquished their Mancunian rivals by 3 votes to 2. Hurrah for the White Rose! Labels: leeds international beer festival. Next Meet - A Call For Dates.

About Leeds Homebrew (PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR INFO). Monday, 22 October 2012. October Meet - Thursday 25th - Update. The next meet of the group has been scheduled for Thursday October 25th, meeting initially at The Brewery Tap in Leeds, between 6.30pm and 7pm. A change of direction? Leeds Homebrew: September 2012

http://leedshomebrew.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

About Leeds Homebrew (PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR INFO). Thursday, 20 September 2012. Homebrewers Copper Dragon Brewery Visit, 7th Oct. This post has been in the pipeline for a while now so apologies for being rather slow in delivering. You may remember the homebrew competition that myself, Beer Ritz and Copper Dragon set up a while back entitled: Operation Remix. I mentioned at the end of the competition that there would be a special event for any homebrewer or would-be homebrewer to take part in. We hope to ...

Brewday no 3 – a quick demo I knocked up | Confessions of a bathtub brewer

https://bathtubbrewer.wordpress.com/2012/09/13/brewday-no-3-a-quick-demo-i-knocked-up

Confessions of a bathtub brewer. Watney’s bleedin’ Red Barrel. A bit of bottling →. September 13, 2012 · 4:29 pm. Brewday no 3 – a quick demo I knocked up. Proved that I could do better, it probably isn’t going to get much better, and I could use the bottles. No 3 is designed to be a lowish ABV blonde beer using a packet of 2009 Summit hops that I got on sale from The Malt Miller. Quarter of a teaspoon of Irish moss. Half a packet of Safale S-04. So what have I learned this time? A bit of bottling →.

Confessions of a bathtub brewer. Session 91: My First Belgian →. September 2, 2014 · 11:20 pm. AG#18 – scrabbling towards something. The intention for this beer was a pale ale with NZ hops. I don’t want to say an NZ pale as I wasn’t sure of my small antipodean hop stash, so the recipe was this:. Maris Otter – 47.2%. Pilsner – 47.2%. Torrified wheat – 4.7%. Crystal dark – 0.9%. Hallertauer Aroma – 15.8 IBU – Boil 30 min. Pacifica – 3.3 IBU – Boil 15 min. Wakatu – 3.6 IBU – Boil 15 min. You are commenting ...

Confessions of a bathtub brewer. Session 91: My First Belgian. Peak craft and style rearing its ugly head →. October 3, 2014 · 11:21 pm. Session #92: I Made This. As I really started this blog to talk about my experiences in home brewing with the possible intention of becoming a proper brewer, I suppose I had better write something for Session 92. I ended up leaving it to cool overnight, a risk by some accounts but not so bad really. The immersion cooler was the first next addition to the collection.

Confessions of a bathtub brewer. Peak craft and style rearing its ugly head. Selling up →. December 24, 2014 · 12:13 am. AG#19 – Red Cat Rye IPA. It’s been a while since I did this, the proper job and a small child take up whatever time I have to the point where a working lunch at the local every now and then is the closest I get to a bar (it’s a nice bar anyway), and I haven’t had a chance to completely clean up from this back in September, let alone do another beer. Maris Otter 78.9%. Selling up →.

I’ve been like a kid wanting to play with a new toy all week, so I decided throw caution to the wind and set up in the kitchen yesterday. As mentioned in the last post. 18 litres of water. 255kg Brewpak pale malt extract. 40g Styrian golding hops at start of boil. 7g Styrian golding hops for the last 10 minutes. Confessions of a bathtub brewer. Session #92: I Made This. AG#19 – Red Cat Rye IPA →. October 20, 2014 · 3:49 pm. Peak craft and style rearing its ugly head. The other day Zak Avery posted this observation. In short, beer isn’t going to get better than it is now. To my mind that means both in quality and in the way it’s sold and both are intertwined. This was illustrated for me this weekend when sampling Criminales Gangster. And yet is now being sold in B&M stores for 89p a bottle. Enter your comment here.

pintsizedticker: Norfolk Spoils

http://pintsizedticker.blogspot.com/2013/02/norfolk-spoils.html

Friday, 1 February 2013. We managed to steal a 4 day trip to Norfolk and Cambridge with some very good friends. Not wanting the trip to be all consumed with beer notes and chasing round the county trying to find local beers we hadn't planned on blogging. But, when we passed a sign for a shop that our guests knew proclaiming 60 different Norfolk beers we could not pass the opportunity, and our hosts were keen to join in. 177: Citraville, Old Slewfoot, 3.9%. 178: Honey Ale, Norfolk, 5%. Accompanied by Stilton and port flavour crisps! 173: Hoppy Lovin' Christmas, Mikkeller, 7.8%. Smells sweet and spicy. Light in colo...
