Watch: Occupation of Fortnum & Mason by UKuncut was peaceful. 1:02 pm - March 27th 2011. Occupation starts from 1m10s in). Contrary to media reports yesterday of ‘violence’ by UKuncut supporters – a video from inside Fortnum and Mason yesterday shows it was entirely peaceful. What took place inside was merely chanting, singing, dancing and putting up posters. There was minor vandalism outside by others, but not a single UKuncut protest in the past has involved destroying property. 1:16 pm, March 27, 2011.

Hagley Road To Ladywood: Buried
http://mymarilyn.blogspot.com/2011/01/buried.html
Friday, January 07, 2011. Definitely the most claustrophobic film ever made. What would you do if you suddenly woke up trapped in a wooden box the size of a large coffin and your last memory was an armed ambush in the middle of the Iraqi desert? What if all you had with you was a mobile phone, a zipper, a knife and a pencil and you knew that precious oxygen was running out? Deserves at least three awards. Which is why Buried. Would also net a second award for camera work. If you think there are so many y...

Hagley Road To Ladywood: The Rite
http://mymarilyn.blogspot.com/2012/01/rite.html
Sunday, January 29, 2012. Add a 't' in front of the title and you get the general idea. How many films can be made about exorcists and possessed women (and why is it always the women, by the way, have you noticed? Swearing in several languages before people realise that it's totally useless? How many times, before producers actually decide to pack it in and focus their attention and cash elsewhere? And its multiple spin offs and rip offs. If there's one thing the makers of The Rite. 40 YEARS OF BULLYING:.

Hagley Road To Ladywood: Vile? Take a look in the mirror
http://mymarilyn.blogspot.com/2013/04/vile-take-look-in-mirror.html
Friday, April 05, 2013. Take a look in the mirror. How right-wingers excel at preying on the dead. I don't recall the Daily Fail,. Trying to score pathetic political points back in 2008 - when millionaire Christopher Foster slaughtered his family. No lectures or questions about society and lifestyles back then. And yet, the patterns were eerily similar to Mick Philpott's crime. That was an "individual tragedy". This one's a "vile product of Welfare UK". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The PCC and the...

Tabloid Watch: Mail on Sunday corrects minaret claim
http://tabloid-watch.blogspot.com/2013/05/mail-on-sunday-corrects-minaret-claim.html
Blogging about bad journalism. Wednesday, 1 May 2013. Mail on Sunday corrects minaret claim. A correction from the Mail on Sunday. An earlier version of this article showed a picture of a mosque with dome and minaret and suggested that such a building might be added to the skyline of Chipping Norton. We would like to make clear that the proposal is for a conversion of an existing shop and there will be no addition to the skyline of Chipping Norton. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. No intere...

Blogging about bad journalism. Thursday, 11 April 2013. The Mail, the BBC and Thatcher 'bias'. As sure as night follows day, so the death of Margaret Thatcher was always going to be followed by the Daily Mail complaining about 'anti-Thatcher bias' in the BBC's coverage. On 9 April, this was published on MailOnline. Note the use of 'public anger'. To describe a reaction they support. When the Mail and Richard Littlejohn were criticised recently over their coverage of Lucy Meadows. The BBC was accused of '...
