Mexico – First Edition. Southern Biscuits →. September 28, 2013. 6 cups all-purpose flour. 3 tablespoons baking powder. 1 cup vegetable shortening. If you have access to a food processor, you can build this mix in seconds: Put the dry ingredients in a food processor and pulse several times to mix and aerate. Add shortening and pulse until the shortening is combined and the mixture resembles fine crumbs. No food processor or pastry cutter? Use two knives to cut the shortening into the dry ingredients.
