A Journey Out of Shyness. Victory feels good, even when we don’t win. April 18, 2016. Last time you did something you were proud of? Anythingfrom accomplishing a task you’d put off way too long, to doing something even slightly brave? Take a moment to recapture the feeling of euphoria you experienced afterwards – your chest feels fuller, you walk a little taller, a satisfied grin creeps out the side of your lips. Victory feels good, even when we don’t win. Is a person who joins a club in school brave?

Gift Opening Awkwardness | So Awkward Journal

A Journey Out of Shyness. December 23, 2015. Now, let me clarify, there is nothing wrong with being humble. In fact, it’s an admirable trait, but let’s give ourselves credit where it’s due. Our family and friends think we’re awesome and they want to show us by bestowing upon us a carefully selected gift. I know, I know, you’d much rather giv. E than receive. Another admirable trait, but consider why you like giving. You want to make the recipient happy, right? How do you do that? At this point, it can ge...

A Journey Out of Shyness. Keeping a Conversation Going. March 20, 2016. Your insides scream as the silence between you grows more and more awkward. There’s a certain point (I haven’t actually counted the seconds) where you become extremely aware that the conversation needs a shock from a defibrillator, then it. On the floor. For a SHY, talking one on one with someone can be challenging. Have you seen any good movies lately? No Look down or away. Got any plans for the weekend? So, why did they walk away?

A Journey Out of Shyness. July 10, 2016. Face your fears, they say. Well, I found myself facing a fear a few days ago. Now mind you, I had no intention of facing. A Jeep owner, you totally get it, right? We finally found a turnoff with a view of the windmills and stopped for some photos. Notice I said we? Want to drive back. But I had to. I had to get back to work. As I was leaving the small town, I saw an old grain elevator, so I stopped for a photo. For one thing it was very cool, but mainly I hope...

Wishful Thinking | So Awkward Journal
https://soawkwardjournalblog.wordpress.com/2016/01/01/wishful-thinking
A Journey Out of Shyness. January 1, 2016. At what age do we give up trying and turn into the wishful? Do toddlers sit on the floor thinking, I wish I could learn to walk? Does a child mope around saying, I wish I knew how to ride a bike? They just try it! And they keep trying. Even though they fall smack on their caboose a thousand times, they keep trying. And accomplishing that goal, they set their sight on something else to conquer. Would you like to be thinner? Would you like to learn something new?
