Wednesday, September 28, 2011. That's right, September 25 at about 10:30am, I reached Canada! So I left the Dinsmores near Skykomish, with Jimbrick, Wiz, and Buttercup. Unfortunately, I lost Cricket when he left, due to the fact that I wanted to let my shin splints heal up a bit. Cricket did achieve his goal of hitting the border on September 24, so he could make it to school on the 27. Congrats man, wish I could have been there with ya! That's good luck, for Washington anyways! Walking in the rain.

Monday, November 17, 2014. Sorry for the lack of updates as of lately! My season with the Forest Service ended at the end of September and I went back to school. Unfortunately school keeps me busy and temperatures have dropped, so there probably won't be any more trip reports until this summer. There was an almost mythical river crossing ahead. we'd heard it was incredibly perilous, a log bridge high above a gorge with a crazy torrent of water rushing far below. when we got to it, it was just a log over a river not dissimilar to many we'd forded. In fairly typical fashion i've managed to leave my external hard drive at the savos, after wiping my sd card, so it'll be a while before I can do those retro- posts. this is a shot of desi I had on my phone. Hermanie and migeline live in the other back room, and they often have visitors. this little girl spent the day at the church one day. she was a mischievous imp who chattered to me non stop in creole. far too rapidly for comprehension. she sat still long enough for her sister to very precisely arrange her hair.
