Can they do it? YES THEY CAN!
Day 10 – Edinburgh to Bankfoot | LEJOGGLER
https://lejoggler.wordpress.com/2009/08/03/day-10-edinburgh-to-bankfoot
Can they do it? Day 10 – Edinburgh to Bankfoot. Miles – 56. Punctures – 2 (both Alex Codd who has now bought better tyres). Sams perinium – “what perinium, it’s fine”. Ooooo we they are getting really close now, they can almost smell John O Groats in their noses! Day 10 brought more of the same, cycling and hillls and punctures and lunch and arrival and accommodation and beer and food and bed. Simple eh? And so day ten draws to a close, and with only three remaining the thoughts are turning to what peole...

Can they do it? In response to questions asked. People keep asking me questions via the comments and I keep forgetting to include them in the updates so here goes:. In response to J and P Walker asking about where we are – oops sorry I forgot to mention that! We stayed in the Bankfoot Inn in Bankfoot which us just above Perth up the A9 🙂. Paul – they haven’t seen James Cracknell yet – if they do it’ll be today! Will let you know! Well that’s it for now – I’m planning a little q and a s...As for now me a...

Wow and Wow, all the way to Jock land, just amazing! Congratluations all, you must (should )feel a great sense of achievment, apart from feeling other sensations! Day 13 – Lairg to JOHN O GROATS! | LEJOGGLER
https://lejoggler.wordpress.com/2009/08/06/day-13-lairg-to-john-o-groats
Can they do it? Day 13 – Lairg to JOHN O GROATS! Its finally here, the last push, the journeys end, the last day! I’m actually writing this sitting outside the Journeys End Bar in John o Groats – it feels quite bizarre to finally be here! I thought I would give you an early update before the cyclists arrive and then a second one later – before I’m too drunk hopefully – with more details. That was 58 miles, which they did in 4 and a half hours which is pretty good going! And that’s the story so far ...
Dave M | LEJOGGLER
https://lejoggler.wordpress.com/dave-m
Can they do it? The most experienced of all cyclists Dave is the knowledge man of the group. A veteran that has cycled from France to Spain he is the man to go to if you have a broken wheel (sam) a wheel fallen off (Anouska) a puncture (emma) or you hve fallen into a plant pot (alex). Dave us doing it purely for the challenge, so you can’t sponsor him, but you can send him some money if you fancy! Glad to see you with a beer in your hand! Love Sara and Keith x. Tracking my charity fund-raising efforts over 365 days . and beyond! Saturday, 29 August 2009. Blog Post 100 * * 365challenge: DONE! Well readers, welcome to my 100th blog post - this could be a long one! To achieve my final challenge target of running the 135 Km distance that marks the length of Hadrian's Wall, my 6th and final challenge. Whoop Whoop! Okay, I'll keep it down now, sorry). Has been so rewarding and inspiring for me: I have felt truly humbled by the response. That some of you then asked if...

Tracking my charity fund-raising efforts over 365 days . and beyond! Wednesday, 29 July 2009. Stretch that iliotibial band . You may remember a couple of posts ago, I explained why I don't run these days . you can. Read the story here. Well, it turns out that, while that injury didn't help, it seems that the real problem is just that I've probably got Trochanteric Bursitis! Oohhh, that explains it! My GP referred me to an orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Andrew Phillipson at a local. On-line that I've begun anywa...

Wednesday, 22 September 2010. Day 16: Brora - John O' Groats (67 miles). We were very excited as today proved to be our last. I had light panniers and Sicknote had none. We knew that it was going to be a hard day, especially the first 30 miles. Ever since we embarked on this crazy journey, I have been warning about "Berriedale Braes". "Can't be that bad" "we'll see". The two lady fellow end-to-enders and their rather large entourage. On our cycle in from Wick, Hamish McLean (soon to be father-in-law of m...
Lands End to John o'Groats
Lands End to John o'Groats. Saturday, 23 June 2012. Day 15: Tongue to John OGroats. I made it. What an emotional journey. The day was always gonna be a long one in my mind. But as I started cycling I had the Final Countdown song in my head. I cycled into Thurso and met up with Rachel again in a small tea shop. I had a cup of tea and a cream bun. We packed the bike into the car and I put on clean clothes for the first time in weeks! Stay tuned for pictures and videos when I get home. Friday, 22 June 2012.

Monday, 4 July 2011. Day 10: Golspie to John O Groats. DT - Awesome end to the trip. Woke up feeling tired but my bike legs were back and we set off like the clappers. Although we were aware there were some hills today, we weren't quite expecting the amount of climbing we had today. Helmsdale in particular has a couple of very long 13pc climbs that go on for about 4 miles. The almost 50 mph descent was exhilarating though! Sunday, 3 July 2011. Day 9 Kingussie - Golspie. May I lie down upon my back. AK - ...
LEJOGGLER | Can they do it? YES THEY CAN!
Can they do it? And so that is it. Sam, Alex, Anouska, Emma, Dave M and Dave W have all successfully completed the challenge and cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats. After 13 days, 1000 miles, lots of sandwiches and even more beer they finally cycled into John O’Groats at 5.04pm on 6th August. I must confess that I had my doubts before they started that each and every single one of them would cycle each and every mile but they did – and I know I and many others are blown away by the achievement. The c...

Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. Cycling 1000 miles in 9 days. We’re off…. Tomorrow. Our gear is all on the van, which is already on its way southward. We’re following it down tomorrow – flying down to Exeter, then a minibus to Land’s End for an overnight stop before we start pedalling the just-shy of 1000 miles on two wheels. I think I’ve put in enough training, and certainly I’ve not been this fit for over a decade, so maybe I shouldn’t worry o...8211; cycle....
