What Is A Tetla? The tetla is like a new kind of currency for a new economy. It is being used by a social movement that has already built a new economy in the midst of the old. It is an economy focused on local community, inspired by ancient traditions of the Coast Salish people and implemented using innovative economic ideas we developed while doing this project. The tetla economy is more sustainable, more resilient, more prosperous, more accessible and more fair than the old economy. What Is A Tetla?

The Tetla Tsetsuwatil is a traditional aboriginal organization based on an Indian Reserve. Tetla Gift Certificates are issued by an organization called the Tetla Tsetsuwatil. In the Samuna Nation, which is one of the Cowichan tribes, there are many ancient traditions which continue to this day. One of our traditional ways is the concept of tsetsuwatil or working together. This is the traditional way of doing economic activity which is mutually beneficial for everyone involved. What Is A Tetla?
