Musings of a newbie sewer and quilter Mom. Saturday, July 28, 2012. I am sending it in to the Quilt Con Block Challenge. The challenge blocks are to use the QuiltCon colors to represent what modern quilting means to you. QuiltCon colors.check. This block represents modern quilting to me for a few reasons:. 1) The orange center is supposed to represent a compass. With social media and technology the world wide quilting community is united. Sunday, July 8, 2012. It has been one, hot, busy summer! Also the ...

Musings of a newbie sewer and quilter Mom. Monday, April 16, 2012. Table Runner Blog Hop. After my confusion on Monday, I was worried I would not be able to deliver on the goods today. Thank you so much for all those who reached out to me with messages of kind understanding and support. You know who you are! It meant very much to me. Thank you, Madame Samm for hosting this Blog Hop and for everything else you do for the quilting/sewing community. Jennifer ( that girl). Saturday, April 7, 2012.

Maritime Modern Quilt Guild: July 2015

Meetings and Sew Ins. Monday, 27 July 2015. MMQG July Sew-In Day Recap. 13 is a lucky number for the MMQG. That's how many happy, motivated, productive quilters showed up to spend the day together finishing up projects or just socializing. What a fun day we had! And the afternoon continued with more of the same. The lighting was not good yesterday, so my phone pics aren't the best. Maybe you should come next time and get a way better look! Emily's very first quilt! Donna tries out piecing on her new Pfaff.

Meetings and Sew Ins. Saturday, 28 March 2015. Recap of our March Sew-In Day. A great time was had by all today at the March Sew-In of the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild. Special thanks to Atlantic Fabrics for hosting our get-together. The room was well equipped with irons and extension cords and cutting mats and lots of tables and of course, a whole fabric shop! Here are a few highlights from today. Lots of piecing for a special project. Quilters always play by the rules! Who doesn't love a Noodlehead Bag?

Crayon Box Quilt Studio: What is a 100 Good Wishes Quilt?

Completed Quilts and Projects. My Journey to Quilting. What is a 100 Good Wishes Quilt? What is a 100 Good Wishes Quilt? In northern China there is a centuries old tradition of creating a "Bai-Jia-Bei" otherwise known as a "100 Good Wishes Quilt" to welcome and celebrate a new life into the family. One hundred family and friends donate a piece of fabric along with a written wish for the baby-to-be. The wish can be anything: a quote, a poem, a saying, a verse or a simple wish from the heart. Whether adopt...
