My Baraka: November 2009
http://mybaraka.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 3, 2009. There is nothing better in my opinion for creative stimulation of any kind than to wander around SFMOMA. Or any modern art museum or gallery for that matter). Taking a mental break to see what other creative minds dream up, outside of your current media or mind space, is enormously energizing. It should be mandatory in any company. My Baraka: February 2010
http://mybaraka.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 26, 2010. I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. I suppose the "what comes next" hasn't seemed terribly exotic. But I have to say that I'm liking being an independent consultant. Working at home has it's drawbacks - I miss having colleagues around to bounce ideas off of. But it certainly has it's rewards. One of them being a variety of great clients, like Added Value. The other being that I don't have to get in a car, bus or train after working 10 hours. Cuts on the Bias.

http://mybaraka.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 27, 2010. Aida and the moon. Friday night was a magical experience. One of those nights that almost seemed choreographed and that makes you say a little prayer of thanks to be able to live in San Francisco. I attended, for the first time, the SF Opera simulcast. Thursday, September 23, 2010. Last night, courtesy of my friend Kevin OMalley. I went to a Commonwealth Club. Program on The Power of Pull. John Seely Brown and John Hagel in conversation with Michael Meyer, CEO of Adaptive Path.

My Baraka: Passion and Pull

Thursday, September 23, 2010. Last night, courtesy of my friend Kevin O'Malley. I went to a Commonwealth Club. Program on The Power of Pull. John Seely Brown and John Hagel in conversation with Michael Meyer, CEO of Adaptive Path. I haven't read the book (full disclosure: I'm not a huge business book reader; I've read the first 1/3 of dozens of biz books which generally gives me the gist. admit it, you do the same), but I'm definitely inspired to pick it up after listening to these guys. I think that's o...

One of those nights that almost seemed choreographed and that makes you say a little prayer of thanks to be able to live in San Francisco. I attended, for the first time, the SF Opera simulcast. The conductor bowed to the camera (us) before the performance. The introduction included the usual request for opera house attendees to silence their phones and for the thousands of stadium viewers to "do whatever they wante...

My Baraka: We must rethink what we think we know
http://mybaraka.blogspot.com/2010/10/we-must-rethink-what-we-think-we-know.html
Tuesday, October 19, 2010. We must rethink what we think we know. My first case in point - a recent article. In the Atlantic on truth and the invention of fact in political debate. Many of us have had to talk sense into our friends or family after they've urgently circulated an internet virus hoax or succumbed to a wild rumor. How many times have I gently suggested "consider the source"? By Sir Ken Robinson on Changing Education Paradigms. To underscore his point - the context within which we learn i...

My Baraka: Beautiful things
http://mybaraka.blogspot.com/2010/10/beautiful-things.html
Friday, October 15, 2010. I had the wonderful opportunity to assist my tango friend Bob Noakes at his beginning tango class at the VA Hospital. Since I arrived early to his house, he treated me to a leisurely drive around the Sunset and Richmond on our way to the VA - districts I'm embarrassed to admit I'm not very familiar with in spite of my 20 years in San Francisco. A hidden treasure I was completely unaware of. the beautifully tiled Moraga steps. After class, Bob's wife Carolyn. Subscribe to my blog.
