This week | librarian42
https://librarian42.wordpress.com/2012/06/29/this-week
On books, gadgets, and gathering information. Skip to primary content. June 29, 2012. It was a light-reads sort of week, as you can tell. I enjoyed Moneyball. I haven’t seen the movie to compare it with the book, but the book definitely had some of the main figures portrayed in a way that seemed a bit dramatized to me. I liked the overall idea of finding new ways to find meaning in data and overcoming conventional wisdom. By Michael Lewis (Nonfiction). Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour. Enter your comment here.

On books, gadgets, and gathering information. Skip to primary content. June 16, 2012. I’ve blogged for courses and work for about four years now, and it, along with most social forms of the Internet, never struck me as a way to spend my leisure time because I associate it with work. Yet it’s been a very rainy month, full of time for me to catch up on my stack of books, journals, and starred posts in Reader. Most interesting link of the week:. What I’ve Been Reading This Week:. Why We Broke Up.

Reflections of a newish LIS professional. Getting to grips with the PKSB. A couple of weeks ago I took part in my first Chartership chat where a couple of people asked for advice on tackling the PKSB. Like them, I too was initially daunted by its size and the language it uses so I thought I’d share my strategy for rationalising and demystifying the PKSB in the hope that it might prove useful to others. Person specification analysis using the PKSB (click image to enlarge). February 1, 2015. Last year, aft...

A view to Padova.

From teacher to librarian

I have learned so many useful tools that I will use, not only in the library, but also in my classroom this upcoming school year. For this last blog post, I will discuss some websites and apps that can enhance student learning and also get students excited about learning and exploration:. I had the pleasure of playing with this app at the ODU Summer ...
