Jennifer Bartram Designs: A quilt for my boy
http://jenniferbartramdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/02/quilt-for-my-boy.html
Door Name Plates and Personalised Pictures. Friday, 3 February 2012. A quilt for my boy. My eldest little boy has been nagging me to make him a quilt.yes, nagging! You can't believe how happy that has made me. He picked out a fat quarter that I already had in my stash that he really liked. It's turquoise with circles on it. And so we selected a range of spotty fabrics to go with it. And then he chose the style he wanted - the Quartered Log Cabin from one of my favourite books Block Party.

Jennifer Bartram Designs: April 2012
http://jenniferbartramdesigns.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Door Name Plates and Personalised Pictures. Monday, 23 April 2012. Progressing: My Boy's Quilt. It's taken a while, but I've now finished all the blocks for Sam's quilt. He has very definite views on how he wants it. All round this way, like this:. And definitely not with a dark border, like this - although I thought this looked quite good. But no, definitely not. Hoping I'll be able to sew all the blocks together tonight, but then will come the tricky task of deciding what fabric to border it with.

http://jenniferbartramdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/01/keepsake-xmas-pressie.html
Door Name Plates and Personalised Pictures. Thursday, 26 January 2012. A Keepsake Xmas Pressie. I really do have the quilting bug. So, for Christmas 2011 I decided I would make my my a keepsake quilt. I trialled some free motion quilting fpr the middle of the squares, which turned out rather well. For the back I used a horizontal panel including all the fabric colours from the front.this is becoming a trademark. And then embroidered a special note to my mum down the side. I'm rather pleased with it!

http://jenniferbartramdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/06/40-years-young.html
Door Name Plates and Personalised Pictures. Sunday, 24 June 2012. It's my husband's 40th birthday tomorrow. Finally we arrive at the day when he can no longer take the mickey out of me for being 40 already. It happens every year. We are essentially the same age, but my birthday is in March and for the three months in between our big days, I don't hear the end of it. I've taken to using the come back "at least I don't have any grey hairs yet! Hat do you think? I found an old photo taken on the day he was ...

Jennifer Bartram Designs: August 2012
http://jenniferbartramdesigns.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Door Name Plates and Personalised Pictures. Saturday, 4 August 2012. I was recently presented with a challenge from my lovely neighbour - to make a gift for a baby boy born in Edinburgh. Her pre-requisite for a design was that it had to be Scottish related - "perhaps an image of Edinburgh castle" and have longevity, i.e. not a 'babyish' design. Well I knew from the outset that the Edinburgh Castle idea would be very challenging unless I could incorporate an outline of the castle into the design. From the...

http://jenniferbartramdesigns.blogspot.com/2013/04/dabbling-with-dressmaking.html
Door Name Plates and Personalised Pictures. Saturday, 4 May 2013. As a Christmas present for my twin neices, I thought I'd try my hand at a bit of dress making. I've not done much in this area, but thought I'd give it a go. I bought a pattern with this very idea in mind at the Knit and Stitch show in 2011 (a long while ago, I know! And found some beautiful fabric in my local sewing shop. I'm pretty pleased with the results - what do you think? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Maidenhead, United Kingdom.
