I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever

I started posting about my job and then realised that when I left work I wanted no more to do with it. So this is me, wife of 17 years, Mother of two, one aged 16 and the other aged 12, owner of three cats, and I work as the PA to the Headteacher of a secondary school in the South East of England. I am originally from The Wirral and I am allergic to Chocolate and Lager. Meh!

I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever. Tuesday, 2 October 2007. My lovely 16 year old son is trying to get a job. Just something at weekends and evenings to put some money in his pocket whilst he studies for his A Levels and to pay his tutor. He has applied to Tescos. We have a large one near by - not recruiting at present. He has applied to Ikea. We have a new one near by - not interested in him, he's too young. He has applied to MacDonalds. Surely they must want him - NO! Monday, Octo...

Minority Mum: Brum, Brum here we come

http://minoritymum.blogspot.com/2007/02/brum-brum-here-we-come.html

A teacher telling tales. Sunday, 18 February 2007. Brum, Brum here we come. We had an absolute ball. Admittedly, we were based at the Hilton (Bromsgrove! Our usual base at the Hilton Warwick was bursting with Valentine and castle lovers) with a free evening meal on our 1st night, baby listening facility and 18m swimming pool with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Tacky I know, but heaven nonetheless! Mitch and I spent our evenings. Now, Property No. 2. Didn't put us off. Now, about that second mortgage.

Minority Mum: St Elsewhere

http://minoritymum.blogspot.com/2007/05/st-elsewhere.html

A teacher telling tales. Saturday, 26 May 2007. Having left work over 6 weeks ago (and spending as many weeks getting over my aborted foray back to work leaving no time to blog.OK, I hold my hands up, let's just say that I sort of 'forgot' that I had started a blog), I've been handed the responsibility of finding a 'suitable' school for the children if we move. I kid you not! Mitch and I visited one such school. The reception area was warm, inviting and colourful with typical displays of children's w...

A teacher telling tales. Tuesday, 20 February 2007. Sweating the small stuff. With African blood coursing through my veins, I'm afraid I. The cold. Even though the sun often peeks through the clouds at this time of year and global warming is doing its best to convince us that it's summer, heating in our house will remain on full blast until we have another hosepipe ban in the South-East. I had the pleasure of a lie in.well, almost (the workmen are arriving at 9am instead of 8! A teacher telling tales. Monday, 5 February 2007. Method in the madness. I've spent most of this evening worrying. Thoughts have been flying .no, attacking me with such voracity that I am compelled to alleviate the stress by starting up this blog. Who else will listen? At least I'm being productive. When I think about it, I normally spend alot of my time fretting about what I've to do and the time that I've wasted thinking about the ever increasing work or list load that grows with every thought. Minority Mum: Old before time

http://minoritymum.blogspot.com/2007/02/old-before-time.html

A teacher telling tales. Wednesday, 21 February 2007. Amazingly, I managed to have lunch today in the staff dining room. Sounds normal enough but I generally don't have a proper sit down lunch and tend to spend the hour catching up with duties. So, today was different. It's a moment that I'll never forget and I hope that Bradley feels that in some small way, his years of pain, grief and confusion has turned to follow a different, more positive path.
