A journal of our daily life as a homeschooling family of four. Tree of Life '05. Thursday, July 10, 2008. End of a long chapter. The next few weeks mark a transition in our lives that is huge. We are going to stop homeschooling, and Max will be entering the world of high school. It was his wish to try and attend the local high school with some of his neighborhood friends. He wants to try and play basketball, and have a "high school experience". I want that for him, too. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

A journal of our daily life as a homeschooling family of four. Tree of Life '05. Wednesday, January 09, 2008. Happy Birthday, Max. Today is our youngest son's 14th birthday. I can't even express all of the emotions I feel about the fact that this particular child is 14 years old. He has been a challenge since he was conceived, but somehow, the child is turning into a nice young man. I am proud of the young man he is, and am anxious to see the young man he will become. A journal of our daily life as a homeschooling family of four. Tree of Life '05. Wednesday, January 02, 2008. 2007 was a year of many milestones in our family. Max became a teenager. Josh got a driver's license. Great Grandma passed away. Josh graduated from high school and went to spend the summer chasing airplanes and training young Civil Air Patrol cadets. Max grew 8 inches. Josh completed the first semester of college. Andy and I celebrated 17 years of marriage. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://www.lifeinwashington.blogspot.com/2008/03/why-does-anyone-know-why-teenagers-have.html

A journal of our daily life as a homeschooling family of four. Tree of Life '05. Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Does anyone know why teenagers have nothing to say until 11pm? It never fails. As soon as I start getting ready for bed, one of my sons flops down on my bed and starts sharing about his life. In great detail. They start the kind of conversations that I am thankful to have with my sons at this age, but geez. can't we talk at 7pm? Maybe I should start waking them at 4am.

Life in the Country. Friday, February 12, 2010. Can you trust a Wiki? As educators, I think that we need to use technology to our advantage when possible. Children are very comfortable with technology and we should look for opportunites to expose them to useful skills they can use in the future. The use of blogs, wiki's and digital stories would all be exciting alternatives to worksheets! I think that Dr Barr would would be proud! Friday, February 5, 2010. Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Wars in the 20th Century. LIFE FOR A SOLDIER. World War I was one of the wars in the 20th century. Life for a soldier was very difficult and life threatening. While war was currently taking place, soldiers were living terrible lives. The trenches were full of bacteria's and sicknesses. Many of the soldiers kept diaries on their daily lives. As you can see on your left, this was living lives during war. Weather conditions were extremely life threatening, as well as frogs, lice, and worse.
