Life Sew Crafty

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Over the next two weekends, I inserted these strips into background fabric and even managed to iron and trim the blocks to the unfinished size. I am so very happy with how this is turning out. The bottom left block is from my guild mate, Alyson. She did an amazing job. Can't wait to show you what the others made me, once I get around to their color ways. I think I'll do yellow next, but probably won't get a chance to work on it until this weekend. Friday, February 27, 2015. February 27, 2015 at 10:35 PM. February 28, 2015 at 9:17 AM. My first son arrived quickly, too. I walked into the hospital and delivered fully dressed! The midwife was the only one who took me seriously. Hooray for your speedy and beautiful delivery! March 2, 2015 at 8:53 AM. So happy for you! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Life Sew Crafty: Sewing and Mothering

http://www.lifesewcrafty.blogspot.com/2015/03/sewing-and-mothering.html

Thursday, March 26, 2015. So my biggest project is of course my little man currently. He's just over a month old now, my how the time flies. Because everyone needs some baby pics in their life. :). However, I've gotten a bit of time here and there to get into my craft room and I also made it to the DCMQG March meeting while my hubby stayed home with the little man. So here's what I've been working on:. Cutting the grey, coral, green, blue, and blue-green fabrics for my sister's wedding quilt. I am trying...

Life Sew Crafty: WIP: Hexie Quilt

http://www.lifesewcrafty.blogspot.com/2015/04/wip-hexie-quilt.html

Friday, April 17, 2015. With my sister's wedding getting every closer (middle of May), I've been focusing almost exclusively on getting at least the top of the quilt done. This has been slow going, because infant (i.e. wailing/smiling, tiny dictator). He's getting so big that we've had to remove the bassinet from the pack 'n play and just bed him down on the mattress. Here are my final stacks (minus the final 5 sets of grey):. Labels: Hexie Wedding Quilt. Myra @ Busy Hands Quilts. And its a gift, too!

KarriofBerries: May 2015

http://www.karriofberries.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Abby over at A Things for Boys. Is hosting a selfish sewing swap. You are your partner! No more spending countless hours will be spent stalking a partner, using up your unicorn fabric, paying a small fortune to ship to only to receive nothing. Last year at Christmas, boy that was a bad time for me. I think I should create a cathedral window project for me. It will help me embrace imperfection because my windows aren't always perfect. Angel-cooky retro Christmas fabric. We got to se...

KarriofBerries: April 2015

http://www.karriofberries.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 13, 2015. Or in other words, how to dumb down an idea so you can actually make it in time to ship it to your partner with your sanity still intact. Sometimes, life picks you by your toes and takes you for a ride and you are just lucky enough to hold on and breathe. I think we have all been there. Please note that ceasing any communication and receiving but not sending isn't an option. For the rainbow swap, I really wanted to make this quilt by Tessa of The Sewing Chick. I found this amazing...

KarriofBerries: June 2015

http://www.karriofberries.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Is it to be better to be loved or to be feared? So, I know there have been complaints about a current IG swap that the swap mama is ruling with an iron fist. Note: I wrote this a long time ago. Just now getting around to publishing it. First, I want to say that as a swap mama (the organizer) that I felt responsible that everyone who sent a package received a package. Someone should make a cute graphic for that - No Swapper Left Behind. Even if you are only keeping up with a group ...

KarriofBerries: November 2014

http://www.karriofberries.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 27, 2014. We have six place mats but we needed seven for Thanksgiving. I asked Emma if she wanted a turkey place mat and she said that she wanted a purple turkey. I used Bee in My Bonnet's Tom Turkey. S tutorial. I never made half square triangles that way before so just a caution to read the directions twice. I added a bit more on the sides since my place mats are around 12 x 18 before they get washed. I do need to make a pressing board. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. I meant to make a...

http://munchkinquilts.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 21, 2014. Welcome to the For Pinks Sakes Blog Hop! This blog hop is being done by many quilters across the country. Each person is making at least one block for a charity quilt that will be donated to the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion in Grand Rapids, MI, where Anna Gering's Mother-in-Law, Tina, has been getting her cancer treatment. (Fun fact, I'll be going out to Grand Rapids in August with my rowing team for USRowing Master's Nationals). Anna @ Life Sew Crafty. Kathy @ Kwilty Pleasures.

KarriofBerries: Changes to the Naughty List

http://www.karriofberries.com/2015/08/changes-to-naughty-list.html

Saturday, August 1, 2015. Changes to the Naughty List. I asked people not to delete line items off of the naughty list and someone did so. Permissions have been turned off and its set to be seen only by me. I will add people back (karriofberries at gmail) and you won't be able to share it. To add you, I need your email, your in real life name (first and last) and what swap you are hosting. No more sharing of the list so that means I will probably only be able to grant access during the week.

KarriofBerries: Some People Come With A Warning....

http://www.karriofberries.com/2015/07/some-people-come-with-warning.html

Thursday, July 23, 2015. Some People Come With A Warning. If you are a swap mama, I strongly urge you to USE to the naughty list. If you are a swapper, you might want to ask your swap organizer if they are using it. I do think if you are a swap mama and are allowing people that are on the naughty (several times/repeat offenders), you need to be upfront and communicate that to your swappers. They should be given all the information before they spend their resources (time and money). Here is your sign.

KarriofBerries: February 2015

http://www.karriofberries.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 21, 2015. So, you are almost there. Ask yourself, did you top stitch where you needed to, does the zipper work, did you catch all the seams? After I sewed the back on this pillow, I didn't like how the back puffed out. I ran an edge stitch to keep the back to stay put. My doggies have short legs and can't reach my sewing table but I lint roll and look for loose threads that need to be clipped. I prefer the bubble lined envelopes. They are studier and tend to tear less. I always...So, I...

KarriofBerries: What Swaps Are Not.

http://www.karriofberries.com/2015/07/what-swaps-are-not.html

Friday, July 31, 2015. What Swaps Are Not. What swaps are not. I am tired of the drama and good swappers not swapping. What swaps are not. 1 Swaps are not free shit in the mail. If you received and did not send (unless you have an extraordinary. Circumstance and it being a day that ends in "y" is not the case), it is stealing. I am over people receiving but not sending. Sidebar: Stop changing your IG handle. There has been a couple and you know what? I have been able to keep up with you. 3 the opportunit...

Life's Every Day Questions | Finding Answers To Life's Questions

Answers to Life's Questions. Why Am I Here. As mothers, it is sometimes easy to get bogged down in the daily necessities of life and forget the divine mission we are on. In our day, there is a lot of pressure on mothers to be. When I was only around 4 or 5 years old, I went to the store with my Mother. As I was walking through the store, I passed the section that had gum and other goodies that I wanted. From. A Mother’s Priorities. Posted on Feb 24, 2014. Why Am I Here On Earth? Life's everything and anything

Life's everything and anything. This blog is just simply everything and anything that's happening in my life that i feel is interesting to share with everyone. Enjoy! Monday, 9 November 2009. Trip to Melbourne - Day 2. So, I stopped at posting up photos of my first day at Melbourne. Day 2 is much more memorable, I would say. I visited the iconic 12 Apostles. The view was breathtaking.it was one of the most magnificent collection of limestone stacks I've ever seen. That's me at the entrance of the site.

Life Sew Beautiful | my little handmade corner of the world

8220;To Make” List. My little handmade corner of the world. January 24, 2017. 8212; faithandfamily @ 8:38 pm. It seems like I haven’t sewn in forever. I just haven’t felt like I have the time anymore. But I’ve managed to fit it in lately, and it is so good to be back! I ended up really loving this quilt, and she did too. The basic idea for the blocks can be found here. I hope this visual helps if you decide to try something similar. December 5, 2014. 8212; faithandfamily @ 7:04 pm. The hardest part was f...

My Life, My Sewing….things that complete me. Pink and Blue skirt…. So this morning after finishing and shipping a skirt for a customer, I decided to make one for myself. In a couple of hours I made this skirt to wear to a friends son’s 2nd birthday party. Couldn’t believe I finished it in time, absolutely love it. When there is nothing in your closet to wear, go to your sewing machine and sew. This entry was posted on November 17, 2013 and tagged african print. I LOVE HIM…I DO. Dashiki all the way….

Life Sew Good

Friday, January 6, 2017. A Tapestry Woven: part 2 (aka All Justin's Fault). First things first: If you haven't read part 1, you can find it HERE. Like I said before, it was all Justin's fault. He had volunteered me to teach women to sew, but after my first trip, I was much less apprehensive about going. I gathered a team of wonderful seamstresses and we had worked hard raising money, collecting donations, and preparing to help set up this program. Little did we know how things would pan out. I can't tell...

Life Sew Sweet | Learning to sew!

What I have made this summer :). July 19, 2014. So now that I can add pics, I will add what else I have made this summer as I have been learning how to sew! One of the first things I made was a denim skirt… I had been wanting to buy one but decided I would try to make it myself. I am really happy with it! It is very comfortable! I am not usually a skirt or dress wearer, but I have been enjoying my new skirt :). I had a little trouble with this zipper… did this before I took my Craftsy class. Then Simplic...
