You can't and we wouldn't want to ask the grandparents to spoil her less. So how do we teach our little girl that having new toys is a luxury not an entitlement? Squishy Sand. Sometimes my kid is so lame, but whatever keeps her motivated. (hahaha! Her progress so far. I'm pretty sure we'll have to repeat this process a few times since she's not really grasping the concept of earning a reward yet. A lot of our conversation over lunch/dinner goes something like this:. Emily: Mommy, can I have my sand?

life.with.chu: May 2014

http://www.lifewithchu.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

It took me a while to console Emily and explain to her that although the little Terror did not share, it's not something we do. I could tell Emily was trying her best not to cry, but in between her muffled sobs I could hear her say "fish. fish." Ugh. totally broke my heart! We didn't actually give her the fishing toy till recently and she's been playing with it everyday. Each time she catches a fish, she yells "I catch you! Feeling like a winner. No, it looks old. No, how much is a new one? Much to Chris...

It might look weird. Aren't chandelier big? Don't you think it'll be too busy? Maybe we should make the closet bigger and more custom looking so that the chandelier will fit. You get the idea… it's not a "N-O," but it's definitely the slew of comments that makes you want to just say … ok forget it. But I wasn't going to forget this… so I asked again and Chris being the remarkably doting husband that he is said ok! Here's some contenders…. I turned 35 years old today. 2 Getting to know yourself sounds dec...

Lately, I've been trying to transition Emily's room into a big girl's room. This really just meant letting her look over my shoulder as I browse the internet for ideas and making notes when she screams "I LIKE THAT! I can totally do that! I thought I scored such a good deal with this canopy (left). It was 72% off, had ruffles, white, excellent reviews. granted I had to wait almost a month to get it since it was coming straight from China, but for the price. worth the wait or so I thought!

Fruit of my labor. Growing up, my mom always tried to give me the best, especially when it pertained to food. For the longest time I thought my mom actually liked the bony parts of the chicken, because I always got the drumsticks. Whenever there was fish, my mom would tell me that she enjoyed the picking at the leftover meat on fish bones because it had more flavor. Of course as I gotten. Older, I realized this was just her unspoken way of displaying love. Ham and Cheese Tortellini. I personally liked th...

Life in Boston: May 2012

http://maryandbrian.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 28, 2012. Sorry we have been MIA for awhile. Brian was busy at work like usual, and I was finishing up my last few weeks of school. Wee finally done with 1st year! It appeared to have gone by so fast, yet so slow at the same time, especially around exam time. Does that even make sense? LOL Anyways, Brian's parents came to visit last week. It was so good to see them! With all our guests and friends, I think I celebrated my birthday like 4 times. Wooo! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Life in Boston: iPhone 5

http://maryandbrian.blogspot.com/2012/09/iphone-5.html

Wednesday, September 26, 2012. A few weeks ago, Brian decided that we should buy a new laptop for me since mine was like almost 5 years old ( 3 my Lenovo). He wanted to get a Mac for me instead of a PC since I get the most random viruses. Once, I got one super lame virus from listening on the Glee channel on radio.com. I didn't even know that was possible! Anyways, the new retina display is so pretty though! Poor Brian. Verizon screwed up and sent his to California. It had to be rerouted to Bosto...

Life in Boston: Pumpkin Spice Latte

http://maryandbrian.blogspot.com/2012/09/pumpkin-spice-latte.html

Friday, September 14, 2012. I don't particularly enjoy drinking coffee because it almost gives me an instant headache and tummy ache. SO. I am really excited about the return of Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte. It makes drinking coffee so much more enjoyable while studying renal pathophysiology, which apparently makes no sense to me yet it makes me sleepy at the same. What a bad combo! While drinking PSL, I couldn't help but sing "This is Halloween! Everyone hail to the pumpkin song!

Life in Boston: December 2011

http://maryandbrian.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 11, 2011. My Christmas gift from Mary. Technically, she "got" me this after she found out I ordered the seat and then claimed it was my Christmas gift from her. Cheater. :P The steering wheel and pedals are from Karen and Jae and I love my new set up! I've been logging quite a bit of hours on GT5 with this setup and I'm not exactly sure I'm ready to go back to LA this Friday. I might miss my new toys! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Life in Boston: All Alone

http://maryandbrian.blogspot.com/2012/10/all-alone.html

Thursday, October 18, 2012. That was all I could think about while trying to fall sleep. Last night, I was scrolling through Facebook right before going to sleep. I was trying to distract myself to stop thinking about Sinister. But someone posted a picture from Paranormal Activity 4. Q Q I kept peeking over my blanket to make sure something wasn't there. I'm glad Brian is coming home tonight. I can finally get a good night's sleep. oh yea and I miss him too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Life with chronic pain - Christine Hannon | chronic pain and how to live with it

Life with chronic pain – Christine Hannon. Please share your story. Chronic pain and how to live with it. Saga of a broken toe. August 18, 2015. About three weeks ago I stupidly broke my baby toe. I decided that instead of waking everyone up too early in the morning, I would try to find the washroom in a dark, unfamiliar, hotel room. Well, you guessed it! They had great solid, wooden, bases for these beds. Whack! The look on his face told me that the toe he was looking at was. After wretching for a day a...

Ephesians four verse two, speaks of humility as a gentle act that bears us together in love. Humility is part of our soul, part of our faith; faith takes audacity. God chose us and freed us of our sins, so that we may acknowledge our sinful nature in a manner as humbly, as Paul. Giving up the fleeting riches of world so that we may gain eternal riches of The Kingdom. Go adv...

Life with Claire Bear. Our family's story of raising our disabled child. HOW YOU CAN HELP. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Just strikes me as odd that she avoids this kind of illness. She always was more resilient than the rest of us in the sickness department, and I've gotta say I'm glad she still has that trait, because this was not a fun flu-bug to have to fight with.
