Yosemite Wilderness July 28-31, 2005. Day 1 Bridalveil Camp Trailhead to Lost Bear Meadow. Yeah, right. Since I was starting to feel the altitude quite a bit (we were at around 8,000 feet, and I've been affected by the altitude at considerably lower locations), sleep didn't come easy. Here's a little table of what The Turk and Kinjia carry on their treks. The Turk carries his gear in the Gregory Z Pack. 3 lbs 3 oz. Kinjia hauls his ever-lightening load in a GoLite Race. Pack (thanks to the Turk! Which has cut the weight of his backpack by about 3 pounds. 1 lb 14 oz. The Turk calls it a night in his Lafuma. Warm and Light 800g down bag. Toasty! 1 lb 13 oz. Brian carries a down-filled Kelty Light Year 15 bag (the color is "Salsa"! 2 lbs 8 oz. Tyvek ground cloth: 5.7 ounces. 2 lbs 11 oz.

Henry Coe State Park - April 15-17, 2005. Day 1 - HQ to Sada's Spring : 4.5 miles. A brief stop at the bottom of the canyon gave use the opportunity to cross the Middle Fork of the Coyote Creek, which seemed to be running well. We proceeded up.
