Making games on an open platform. Good Linux Game APIs. Leave a comment ». Here’s a short list of APIs I’ve found useful so far in my endeavours in both 2d and 3d game development. All are open source and cross-platform (and most importantly, work on Linux! They all support C , my language of choice, except Pygame, which is Python only, of course. Many Flash games use Box2D under the hood since it has an Actionscript port, and an iPhone game I really enjoyed and am inspired by, Rolando. Uses it as well.
