Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Cool Colors and Cooperative Children. I took advantage of the beautiful day yesterday and took the kids to Brown County State Park to take a few(hundred) pictures. We had a great time in spite of the swarms of dive-bombing ladybugs! I LOVE the Fall in Indiana and, of course, I LOVE my kids! Check out the slideshow! Raising Alexandra, Raising Ell. The latest chapter in one man's effort to raise two daughters without going (more) insane. Saturday, October 17, 2009. This one goes to eleven. On another subject. One of our friends (no names) posted this on Facebook earlier this week:. Scrubbing the oodles of toothpaste out of the sink? The definition of LOVE sure changes after you have children.". What I witnessed there, though, was about the purest expression of love that I can imagine. And as I think about that to...

It was so cute as they all came over in their jammies with blankets and snacks ready for a show! Scooby Doo was the movie of choice for the gang! It was about mummies and Cleopatra's tomb. Can you believe your eyes? I have a new buddy! Ashley finally let me hold her! We shared some Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter Puffs and all was well with the world!

Sunday, November 29, 2009. Happy Birthday, Jacob Sterling! Today is my baby boy's 9th birthday! How the time flies! He has brought so much joy and laughter into our lives over the last nine years. He's our "Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky"! He is the most pleasant and content child you'd ever want to meet. I honestly can say that I've never witnessed a single tantrum! He loves to sit on my lap and hold my hand. I treasure his sweet and gentle nature. He loves sports of EVERY kind! He gives each one he plays 110%!

Wednesday, May 27, 2009. He Really Needs His Own Blog. Jacob brought home a backpack full of papers and junk from his desk today. I told him to sort out what he wanted to keep and pitch the rest. Here's what he kept and shared with me:. By "Jake S. Hooten. It Really Bugs Me When. Do you want to get on my good side? Don't do the following things. It bugs me when bugs get in the house! It bugs me when my sister takes my D.S! Seriously, just ask! Well, he's wordy like me! It took two bugs to list his "bugs"!

Monday, March 8, 2010. It Don't Get No Better Than This! Yes, I know that's HORRIBLE grammar, but if you hang out around the rodeo very long (or regularly watch the PBR on Versus), you're going to hear such talk. A lot! I find it to be an endearing feature of the sport that I love to watch the most.even more than football! Love the cowboys, especially the bullriders! Love the hats, the buckles, the bulls, the clowns - you get the picture! Came to Conseco in January. I didn't want to miss it!

Raising Alexandra, Raising Ell. The latest chapter in one man's effort to raise two daughters without going (more) insane. Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Mommy and Daddy go to dinner. One of the unintended advantages of having a six-year delay in starting our family was that Jane and I had many opportunities to discuss, and learn how much we agreed on, our values and theories of parenting. For example:. We won't talk "baby talk" to you. We'll use real words and expect you to learn them and use them, too.

Raising Alexandra, Raising Ell. The latest chapter in one man's effort to raise two daughters without going (more) insane. Saturday, October 3, 2009. Number two's number two, and number one's number one (tricycle). Almost a full month with her, and this was the first one? Just call me "Mr. Lucky.". As it turned out, my luck wasn't the only thing that ran out today. A whole lot of poop also ran out. Out the top of the back of the diaper, and onto the back of the inside of her cute little outfit...It wa...
