Completed Projects | vineyardbound

Our first “project” with this house. A few days after we moved in, we removed the flagpole that stood in front of our yard, and we took down the holly bushes (which bit back in the process). But it was worth it, we think. It made our house look taller, and it was nice to not be chased by bees as we tried to leave everyday. The front of our house before. And after (goodbye ugly bushes! After (parts 1 and 2). Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window).

Meet the Harveys | vineyardbound

Madelyn, a.k.a. vineyard worker No. 1. Our little peanut joined our family in January of 2011. Already she has shown us that she is going to do things her way, when she wants to, from her conception, to her birth and since. There is no getting in the way of this little girl. Camden is Daddy’s little helper. She was our first baby, and 4 years later, she still acts like it. We bought the house for her to have a place to run, when the living room of our small 1 bedroom condo couldn’t take it anymore.

Racking the Peach Wine | vineyardbound
https://vineyardbound.wordpress.com/2013/12/02/racking-the-peach-wine
Racking the Peach Wine. December 2, 2013. The peach wine has been sitting for 2 months, and has settled nicely, without us having to add any more additives. We decided to rack it to get it off the sediment, to make it easier during bottling – which would be our next step. Here is all the sediment left in the bottle of the carboy. April 20, 2015. It’s been a long time coming. We’ve been planning this front bed for months. It kept me going though the dead of this horribly cold winter. Dreaming of the cottage garden that will be planted to match our new white picket fence. Next weekend we take the plunge! We will make it worth their while though. October 13, 2015. One great thing about this new house is the abundance of fruit trees all over the property. One of the most prolific growers is the pear tree out front. We didn’t get our act together last year, but this weekend Toby decided that he wanted to “harvest” everything he could reach and make some homemade pear wine. We had everything on hand, with the exception of tons of sugar. It didn’t take long for it to start getting frothy. Look at that happy awake yeast! And now we wait! April 28, 2015.
