Little Prospect Baptist Youth: September 2008
http://littleprospectbaptistyouth.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2008. The girls of Little Prospect Youth had a lock in Saturday. It began at 8:00 am at the church fellowship hall where breakfast was served by the men. We left the church around 9:00 am and proceeded to my house for a little meeting of the minds. (Scary thought.). Initially, we had talked about going to Chattanooga and hanging out at Coolidge Park. However, I learned last week that there was going to be an event on Saturday. Ok. We'll go somewhere else. I don't have an after at...
Little Prospect Baptist Youth: October 2008
http://littleprospectbaptistyouth.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 10, 2008. Make Sure . . .You are Ready. This week our church is having revival with Bro. Woody Lee from Calhoun, Georgia preaching each night. We have had some great services. The music has been great. The preaching has been great. Most importantly, God’s presence has been Great. I am confident that He is pleased with the renewing of our hearts as we have partaken of His Goodness and Power and felt His Holy Spirit moving within each service. And here is the tie to our youth. The trials of...

The James Gang: December 2009
http://thevarnelljamesgang.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 5, 2009. Boy, was I surprised. Let me begin by saying that most things in my life are predictable. I am not one for surprises because I feel out of control. I have to know what is going on so I can plan. plan. plan. So when I got home from work on Friday expecting an evening Christmas shopping with Keith and in turn had a partially packed suitcase waiting, I was in shock. This year, however, there were no flowers, no mention of a nice dinner or of the anniversary at all for that matter.

The James Gang: December 2008
http://thevarnelljamesgang.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 24, 2008. I’m thankful . . . For this quiet time in the warmth of my home. For my husband who is sitting next to me on furniture that is paid for. For my daughter who is sleeping peacefully in a bed, with a comfortable mattress and warm covers for her to snuggle in. For the homes we’ll be visiting later this evening where family will be waiting to share in this joyous time of year. For my health and the health of my family and that we are at home instead of a hospital. Looking at such...

The James Gang: Giving Thanks
http://thevarnelljamesgang.blogspot.com/2010/11/giving-thanks.html
Thursday, November 11, 2010. I've seen many people list an item a day for which they are thankful. I find I have a hard time listing just one at a time, so I thought I would compile them all here. I am thankful for . . . My Saviour, Jesus Christ. Without Him, I would be nothing. My Salvation provided by Him. My freedom to worship Him. A church in which to worship with others sharing the same beliefs. My earthly and Heavenly homes God has blessed me with. My two beautiful, healthy daughters.

The James Gang: Nora-isms
http://thevarnelljamesgang.blogspot.com/2009/03/nora-isms.html
Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Nora, like most toddlers has a plethora of bath toys. We visit the land of Dora the Princess while traveling in our pirate ship or small tug boat, whatever the mood is. Some nights, she puts on a show and requests our attendance. Nora: “Dad, come watch! Nora: “Ladies and junglemen.”. Nora: “Ladies and junglemen.”. Me: “Nora, its Ladies and Gentlemen.”. Nora: “Right, mom. Ladies and junglemen.”. Then there was last night when I was drying her hair. Mad about my Hads.

The James Gang: Gotta love a child’s honesty.
http://thevarnelljamesgang.blogspot.com/2009/02/gotta-love-childs-honesty.html
Saturday, February 14, 2009. Gotta love a child’s honesty. Today, Keith, Nora, and I were having lunch at Wendy’s. We were sitting there having a nice quiet lunch, when a middle-aged man came and sat within Nora’s line of sight. I don’t embarrass easily, but I also don’t encourage things being said to cause anyone else embarrassment. So, anyway, he sits down and Nora says as she points, “He’s a boy. And look, he has hair like mine.”. I simply said, “Yes, he does” and tried to distract her.

The James Gang: September 2008
http://thevarnelljamesgang.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2008. My Thoughtful Baby Girl. So, today, Keith comes home from work exhausted. He is recovering from a migraine that he had yesterday. After talking with us for a few minutes, he sat down in the recliner and went to sleep. Granted, Keith is not 100% thrilled that I took the picture and even less thrilled that I am posting it for the blogging world to see, but how could I not let the world know how thoughtful my little girl is? Monday, September 29, 2008. A Note to Santa. I couldn&...

The James Gang: Listen to your child's prayers . . .
http://thevarnelljamesgang.blogspot.com/2010/01/listen-to-your-childs-prayers.html
Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Listen to your child's prayers . . . So, I was alone that morning getting ready for a doctor's appointment. I knew my doctor would be adjusting the medication I took for the herniated disc I have and I decided I should take a pregnancy test just to be safe. As I sit there, waiting for the result and really not thinking it would be positive, I glance over and what do you know. It says 'Pregnant'. Wow. Then, "No, you're not." Oh, yes I am. Below is a picture I took of her and Kei...

Thursday, October 22, 2015. Yes I am a lawyer, BUT:. 1 Just like any other job, we would like to be off duty by 5pm. Calls, messages for legal advice after that time are not appreciated. Unless its an absolute emergency or the topic will require zero brain power, don't text or call. We would also like to rest, we are humans after all, and our job is exhausting too. 3 Do not be stubborn. You can ask for a 2nd legal opinion from another lawyer to make sure but do not go fishing. 6 If you can, please make i...
