Thursday, January 2, 2014. A friend shared this post to me via watsapp. May it be a reflection and guide for us to grace the new year :). 1 Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout life. 2 Why is a car's windshield so large and the rear view mirror so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on. 5 Old friends are gold! New friends are diamond! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Saturday, December 15, 2012. Checked in at Fullerton Hotel on papa's birthday, 14th Dec. Free hotel stay courtesy of Fullerton Hotel and Class 95 FM car decals giveaway. Totally over the moon with such luck, it rarely happen to us, winning lucky draw prizes. We had the deluxe room facing courtyard but apparently the front desk was kind enough to upgrade us to a slightly bigger space room with really high ceiling. Like really high for a hotel standard! Dinner was absolutely delicious! Kaye's 1st LiL Birth...

Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Today marks the another of Ratsy's milestone. He floated steadily and paddled twice of "bend-kick-close" move his coach Edward taught him. I had the kids enrolled for swimming lesson every Sunday since Feb. Despite missing their lessons for the last 3 weeks, we manage to let the kids have their swimming lessons twice and practice what coach taught them. Joshua's almost 5 now so he picks up the lesson much faster than Kaye. Enjoy the video. I certainly am! So proud of him!

The Nonya Diaries: The Wishing Tree
http://nonyadiaries.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-wishing-tree.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. Bub's school celebrated tanabata. A couple of weeks ago and as part of the festivities, each child made their own "wishing tree" from huge sprigs of bamboo. The children coloured strips of paper and the teacher helped them write down the wishes. Bubs was bursting with pride when he got home that day and asked me to read all of his wishes. So, in no particular order :). Awww, kids are so easy to satisfy. This one's a cinch. KL Godma will be delighted to see this wish. Blogs I ♥.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Onn Kee Chicken Rice in Penang. This might seem almost sacrilegious but each time we're in Ipoh, we never go for nga choy kai. The newly opened Onn Kee Chicken Rice at Bukit Mertajam is located in a nice, very clean and air-conditioned shop lot just across from Tesco Alma. We were a little taken aback at how sleek and modern the premises were. Beansprouts) were definitely a must have (RM3) and Hubs opted for a portion of dry koay teow. The beansprouts added some nice crunch - alm...

The Nonya Diaries: Fika Cafe, Penang
http://nonyadiaries.blogspot.com/2015/07/fika-cafe-penang.html
Thursday, July 9, 2015. Fika Cafe, Penang. Fika Cafe, a beautifully restored prewar heritage house located in Lorong Toh Aka, offers traditional Swedish treats and a chic environment to just relax and watch the world go by from its tiny windows. Be warned that it's hard to find parking around this literally tiny lane so you might want to consider parking at Beach Street or better yet, rent a bicycle and explore this charming part of Penang. There's also a cute outdoor area where you can sit and chill.

Saturday, July 25, 2015. Han Sang Korean Well-Being Food at Penang. All sets are served at RM16 (promotional price, it's usually RM19) and comes with free, refillable drinks, a small bowl of salad, seaweed soup and kimchi (which is also for sale at the Korean mart). I am a huge fan of topokki,. A soft, chewy rice cake and their version of it served on a sizzling hot plate with a spicy gravy topped with gooey, melted cheese was delectable. There was a also a hard boiled egg and slices of fishcakes. Meet T...

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Awesome Canteen at Sekeping Victoria. Awesome Canteen, which has roots in KL, has just set up its first Penang branch in one of my favourite places: Sekeping Victoria. Think faded paint, sunlight dappled walls and tall, skinny trees growing right in the middle of the place. This would make a fun place to catchup with friends as you're spoiled for choices of seating arrangements as each piece of the re-puposed furniture is certainly unique. We had fun wandering about the place.
