Little Wonder and the Sun Machine: we grew this! eastern eggs florentine
http://littlewonderandthesunmachine.blogspot.com/2012/07/we-grew-this-eastern-eggs-florentine.html
Friday, July 13, 2012. I guess it was around Memorial Day that Ian and I planted our veggie garden, this nice 6x8 raised bed that the previous homeowners installed. We're using the Square-Foot Gardening technique in hopes that we'll be able to grow more types of produce than we otherwise would using the row technique. So far, it's working fabulously well, and even though we're experiencing severe drought (are you sick of hearing about this yet? Serves 2 (with leftover biscuits). 1 cup all-purpose flour.
Little Wonder and the Sun Machine: dabbling in cheesemaking
http://littlewonderandthesunmachine.blogspot.com/2012/09/dabbling-in-cheesemaking.html
Friday, September 7, 2012. The evening was balmy, perfect for a garden tour. My friend Alysse and I arrived in Hales Corners with seven other women for a cheesemaking class at Mia Famiglia, an Italian restaurant that focuses on local ingredients. But first, while we could still see outside, Chef Tomas showed us his sprawling kitchen garden and apiary - fascinating! This was my first class through Dabble. Back inside the restaurant, we got to work in the gleaming kitchen, concocting a possibly proprietary...
Little Wonder and the Sun Machine: a pleasing palette
http://littlewonderandthesunmachine.blogspot.com/2012/06/pleasing-palette.html
Monday, June 25, 2012. While the contractors are hard at work inside the house, the plants are growing, growing, growing outside. Ian has been a trouper, watering nearly every day - and the weather forecast suggests there’s no end in sight. (Sorry.) I’m especially pleased with the results in the front garden. And coleus, and purple-flowered spiderwort (thanks, Aunt Lonnie! Just a week after I finished planting (and snapped these photos), this little garden looks much different- and better. Think how ...
Little Wonder and the Sun Machine: foodie penpal reveal!
http://littlewonderandthesunmachine.blogspot.com/2012/08/foodie-penpal-reveal.html
Friday, August 31, 2012. In late July, my foodie friend Sarah told me about an online program she'd discovered called Foodie Penpals that's run by Lindsay of the Lean Green Bean. Some of you might know that as a kid, I had several pen pals, and I still love to write - and receive! Are one of my favorite candies. They're super chewy and pack a ton of gingery flavor. I have the bag at my desk, so when I'm craving a snack, I eat one of these. It's spicy, so it makes me feel full. I'd been seeing recipes for.
Little Wonder and the Sun Machine: May 2012
http://littlewonderandthesunmachine.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 24, 2012. Female African pygmy hedgehog. Guinness Harriet Martin Cliffe, after Harriet the Spy, because of the way she tilts her head and looks at us out of one eye. GP (for Guin-nea Pig), Huffy Hufferton, Tubby Tubberton, Bubby, Bubbers and Bubberton. Pinto (same as the horse; she has a few pure-white patches on her sides) with a white furry tummy. Most of her quills (which don't come out like a porcupine's) look like the stout; dark brown on the bottom and white on top. Digging, climbing,...

A Place for my Stuff: August 2009
http://ryanwatterson.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 26, 2009. I'm pretty tired. I think I'll go home now. The time has come to pack my bags and head home. It's been an amazing 267 days of my life. There's no need for teary goodbyes. Anything I'm feeling right now I most likely said in my Six Months Post. A friend of mine sent me this quote, that I believe in the next few weeks, I will discover the true meaning of. So goodbye Australia, you've been good to me. Keene, NH, here I come. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. But what a day for skiing.
A Place for my Stuff: March 2009

Monday, March 30, 2009. Hockey memories: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. After the game, we all have a beer and its all water under the bridge but I did feel a bit bad about hitting the guy. He was all good with it; it was more that one of his teammates was angry. I guess I will just try to not use the body so much in the next game. Or just watch my back. It kind of got me thinking about my most memorable penalties growing up. Let’s take a trip down memory lane…. Playing Berlin in Keene. Playing against ...

Wednesday, February 25, 2009. The class consisted of myself, nine other students and an instructor named Danny. Danny was probably between 32 and 35. He teaches the class five days a week and also has been a manager at a bar in Wollongong and will soon be opening his own pub. He has a beard and the build of Seth Rogen. Actually he looked kind of like a clean cut Seth Rogen. Nicole: Pretty blonde, 18. She wore a black top and leopard print skirt. Her current job is a hair stylist and she wants to ...Thoma...
A Place for my Stuff: Curing writer's block
http://ryanwatterson.blogspot.com/2010/01/curing-writers-block.html
Wednesday, January 27, 2010. I created 84 posts in 2009. 2010 has inspired one post prior to this one. Since October 2009, I've only written two posts. How could I have gone from being "on fire" to "stone cold? So with that in mind, I've always thought that the best way to get back into writing or into anything is to just do it. Expect to hear from me more often. I'll think of something. Keep writing. You are good at it. February 26, 2010 at 8:10 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Like Nailing Jello...

Thank you again for reading.I'm off to the Pumpkin Festival in Keene, NH. What do you think of the camouflage hat? Http:/ excerpts-kristin.blogspot.com/.
A Place for my Stuff: Life is...
http://ryanwatterson.blogspot.com/2009/10/life-is.html
Tuesday, October 13, 2009. I found out yesterday that one of my former co-workers at Up with People, Hector Ramirez, died in Germany. I'm not positive the details of his death, I only know that it was from an accidental fall apparently. So Hector, wherever you are, you are already missed by hundreds of people that you touched in your 30 short years here on earth. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends. I'll never forget you. On Tuesday morning, I woke up and checked my facebook. Joe se...
A Place for my Stuff: I did not make this story up
http://ryanwatterson.blogspot.com/2011/09/i-did-not-make-this-story-up.html
Tuesday, September 6, 2011. I did not make this story up. The first week of August in 2011, I had the opportunity to go visit my good friend Jim down in NY state for a long weekend of canoeing, camping and fun. Every couple of years I visit Jim in Westtown, NY. We traveled in Up with People together in the year 2000 and have kept in touch. At this point I remember the rain picking up. It no longer was steady, it was now just pouring down. And our body temperatures were starting to dive as well...Jim a...
A Place for my Stuff: July 2009
http://ryanwatterson.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 25, 2009. Sunday, the 26th of July 2008 will always be a memorable day for me because it is the day I ran my first ever road race. Well, now that I think of it, I jogged in a 5K Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Minneapolis in the early 2000's, but I mean a race that was a bit longer than 3 miles. On Saturday, the weather was gorgeous. I would say it was low 60's and sunny. Sunday, unfortunately was pretty cloudy and cold! At the starting line it was packed! The participants who registered a...
A Place for my Stuff: April 2009
http://ryanwatterson.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 29, 2009. The Matchup I've Been Waiting For. Uh-Ohit happened. My favorite NHL team since I was a child, the Carolina Hurricanes (formerly known as the Hartford Whalers), are playing in the Eastern Conference Semis this weekend against the Boston Bruins. You know, that other team that 9 out of 10 New Englanders root for. Today I'm going to talk a bit about the Boston/Hartford rivalry, my history with the Whale and a little more about the Hurricanes. Let’s go back. I mentioned that they m...

littlewonder2 | Little wonder we stumble in life.
Little wonder we stumble in life. October 23, 2017. So my roommate is really fickle when it comes to watching TV; she’s constantly changing channels, and never settles on anything. I think she probably just likes the background noise; that’s what my mum did. She was changing channels today, and this one program got to stay on the screen for a bit. And I got invested. Then she changed it. This is my attempt to recreate and then continue the scene. I got to talk to you. This was ridiculous. He had to h...

Little Wonder and the Sun Machine
Tuesday, May 20, 2014. And something finally has. I promise this won't become a blog about gross things that happen to expectant mothers, or to babies (and their moms) once they're born. But I started this as a what's-new-with-us blog, and so it shall stay. And, as parents who've gone before us assure me, we'll never have another dull moment. So here's to a new leaf, and a new chapter, and a new pea in our little pod. Boy, are we excited to be three! Monday, October 1, 2012. Thanks for sending, Roxanne!

Wonder Boy
Thursday, January 23, 2014. It must be nice. Ugh Can someone tell me why we're still talking about "the mommy wars"? Past generations of women have worked damn hard to provide us with these choices, and we thank them by tearing each other down, no matter what choice we make. It's a ridiculous waste of energy, and it's well past time for us to start supporting each other. It must be nice.". Lord, how many times have I heard that? And there I go- trying to defend my choice. The bottom line is that ther...
