I’m off to my quilting group today to do some machine piecing on a small project. I’ve been very slack on that front lately, I just seem to come home, have dinner and a glass of wine and curl up on the couch with “the boys”. Tea, cake and sewing…. Trying to make piping and other sewing woes. Asymp; 1 Comment. Why would I try to make my own bias-binding you may wonder? Apparently, when attempting to make piping for a cushion, you should cut all fabric strips on the bias to ensure a smooth finish. I therefore found this simple tutorial from By Hand London. Making bias-binding is much easier on a Sunday when you’ve had a bit more sleep, the sun is shining and you may have also had a raspberry and mint martini at a summer market.

Tea, cake and sewing…. A patchwork teddy called Henry! Made using a pattern from Love Patchwork and Quilting. My very first quilt. I am quite proud of this. It was made using fabrics from the Vin du Jour range (3 Sisters for Moda fabrics). Can’t remember what fabric this is but I think I bought it from a quilt shop in Narberth (South Wales). My room is a total mess, my plants are dying, I didn’t cook anything since I arrived, I don’t work sincerely, and I feel tired all the time. I just want to lay down and read some book and so on.
