Known as Black Saturday, a series of fires engulfed the state killing 173 people and injuring 414, destroying over 2000 homes, thousands of animals and a million acres of land. And a class action law suit. Against power companies alleging they failed to maintain power lines properly which has just been settled out of court with residents receiving $500m.
