Living in the Kitchen. My Life With Food. April 5, 2013. Breakfast Chronicles – Week 6-10. Well… I’ve been MIA for a while! I’m happy to say, though, that I have only skipped breakfast once. 🙂 I was out of the country on vacation for a couple of weeks, and had some very tasty breakfasts. I was in London, so I had a few traditional Full English breakfasts… Sausage, Bacon, Tomatoes, Baked Beans, Eggs. Nom nom. Below, my breakfasts this past week (Week 10):. February 26, 2013. Monday – Chocolate Fibe...
Arugula Pesto – Living in the Kitchen
https://livinginthekitchen.wordpress.com/2013/01/30/arugula-pesto
Living in the Kitchen. My Life With Food. January 30, 2013. I love making pesto with things other than basil and/or pine nuts. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I made a “traditional” pesto! This arugula pesto is bright and zesty from the spiciness of the arugula and the fresh lemon juice. The bright green color is fabulous. I served this tossed with whole wheat spaghetti, anchovies, and peas, topped with a soft boiled egg. Delicious! All measurements below are approximate – I eyeballed it! You are...

Breakfast Chronicles – Week 5 – Living in the Kitchen
https://livinginthekitchen.wordpress.com/2013/02/26/breakfast-chronicles-week-5
Living in the Kitchen. My Life With Food. February 26, 2013. Breakfast Chronicles – Week 5. Well, I didn’t forget to eat breakfast last week, but I forgot to post! Here is what I ate for breakfast last week, including, rather naughtily, a pastry! My excuse is that I bought it the day before to meet the minimum credit card purchase amount at the cafe where I ate lunch. So I had to buy it! And it was just sitting there, begging me to eat it for breakfast! Friday – Apple turnover! February 27, 2013 at 12:59...

Baked Quinoa Patties Recipe - 101 Cookbooks
http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/baked-quinoa-patties-recipe.html
Cooking with Natural Foods. Favorite Fats and Oils. Baked Quinoa Patties Recipe. October 11, 2011. 124; 142 Comments. On the subject of packing food for airplane flights, it appears that a number of you were curious. Now, I'm not typically a fan of squishy silicone products. But I like a number of things about this lunch container. It's reusable. And when it's not full it collapses down to nothing in my luggage. The best thing? Or Super Natural Every Day. I'll do my best to type up a list of some of my f...
I Make Cheese: Goat's Milk Ricotta
http://www.imakecheese.com/2010/02/goats-milk-ricotta.html
Andrew's adventures in home cheese making. February 18, 2010. It's been quite awhile since making any cheese, and last night I decided it's time to get back on the horse (or goat, as it were). We had a gallon of Whole Goat's Milk in the fridge, ready to go- the plan was to make another Chèvre. But I wanted to branch out a bit more and try something different. But, we also wanted to eat it right away! A few pages further into Ricki's book, we found her Whole Goat's Milk Ricotta recipe. Perfect! Heat the m...

living in the kingdom of too much
Living in the kingdom of too much. Sunday, August 9, 2015. All the purples in the winter garden. Still looking every day for signs of Spring: it's all pretty gloomy. Not a bud yet on any of the fruit trees and all the tree branches are bare. I have no particular colour scheme in mind when I plant things so it seems odd that nearly every single flowering thing at the moment is PURPLE. Sage or is it a salvia? The worst one is the fact that I am going to have to spend money on a new ( to me) car. Still look...

Living in the Kitchen with Puppies
Living in the Kitchen with Puppies. If you need me, I'll be in the kitchen. With the pups. And a good book or two. Sunday, August 9, 2015. The Night Sister by Jennifer McMahon. Hardcover, 336 pages. I read Jennifer McMahon's last book, The Winter People. And greatly enjoyed it - but this book was even better. I look forward to more of her work. Jennifer McMahon is a treasure. From the Back Flap:. Once a thriving attraction on the well-traveled roads of rural Vermont, the Tower Motel now stands in disrepa...
