the truth writes in white | livingkindly
https://livingkindly.wordpress.com/2010/08/24/hello-world
Just another WordPress.com site. August 24, 2010 / livingkindly. The truth writes in white. And that’s why I don’t really want to be doing this at all. Such self-consciousness in front of an invisible and, at present, non-existent audience! 1984 129, Andy Goldsworthy. Started to rain/ laid down/ waited/ left a dry shadow. Haarlemmerhout, Holland. 29 August 1984. Beneath the thorns →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

Just another WordPress.com site. September 4, 2010 / livingkindly. And me, I find any number of things to do. Snooze, read, work, snack. Today my snack of choice is a chocolate smoothie, an avocado salad and a pineapple. This morning I wavered, thinking that maybe I’d skip the raw food today, but knowing that if I did lunch could well include a crunchie bar, a white cheese roll and a bag of chips, I decided otherwise. A friend suggested this morning that perhaps the graceless dismounts from the wagon are...

Just another WordPress.com site. August 30, 2010 / livingkindly. I woke this morning with a feeling of wonderful possibility. A slow rise from the fuggishness of the last week, in which I have been letting my body sleep, tucked under the comforter of bad food, cigarettes and laziness. This morning felt like the first day of the summer holidays (even though it’s still officially winter), full of potential and spaciousness. Time to wake up from my temporary hibernation. Larr; two things at a time. Enter yo...

Just another WordPress.com site. August 26, 2010 / livingkindly. Two things at a time. You can only devote so much time to catatonia when you have three children. With exactly 2 weeks now til I leave on my expedition, and just a little discomfort about packing them off to boarding school for the duration, I am hyper aware of how often I’m only half present when I’m in their company. To do two things, twice at once/ It’s so nice, is there a point? Two things at a time out of habit, distraction, or avoidan...

Just another WordPress.com site. August 30, 2010 / livingkindly. There’s a new love in my life. And it’s not the dog. This picture was taken with a Holga 120 CFN, beloved because it has made my winter wasteland of a garden look like a wild, enchanted place where fairies and elementals live. It has made the desolation, the dead seedheads, the dry river bed look somehow utterly beautiful. Kids, Durban Beach, Kwa Zulu Natal. Only a few weeks earlier, I was given a new digital camera, a Canon G11, by my folk...

Living Kindfully | A journey in learning to live kindly
A journey in learning to live kindly. Silence, Silenced and Silencing. October 1, 2015. I have plunged into silence. I have a list of reasons as long as my arm (too tired, too busy, too distracted…) but the core of it is that I have a habit of falling into silence when things get hard. In fact, I have a habit of falling into silence when I most need to speak. I need to speak. We all need to speak. But sometimes it’s hard to keep that flow of words going. Riding the Roller Coaster.
