Living La Vida Lum

Living La Vida Lum. Friday, October 23, 2015. 6 months post activation. Time really goes way too fast. In some aspects it feels like Kylie has had two CIs forever. In reality it's only been 6 months since her left CI was activated. Kylie was given sentences to repeat such as:. He drew a mustache on his sister's picture (No - I am not making this up). She was also given sounds to alert when she heard at various levels. I have said it a million times and I will never stop saying it, we are truly blessed by...

Living La Vida Lum: August 2015

http://livinglavidalum.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Living La Vida Lum. Monday, August 31, 2015. Today I received a text from Kylie's Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher, Ms. Ivy. We have been fortunate to have Ms. Ivy for 4 years now working with Kylie. Today, Kylie apparently had to fill out some information today about herself. I have to laugh at them. she is my daughter! Adam and Target. Love this girl! I love that I call people! She asks me EVERYDAY about my ships but today she decides that I call people. Brian and a computer, now that is spot on! Kylie...

Living La Vida Lum: May 2015

http://livinglavidalum.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Living La Vida Lum. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Today's appointment at University of Miami for Kylie was an A appointment. It's hard to believe how far we have come, when we first started having appointments, Kylie's cooperation levels weren't exactly perfect. (Meltdowns were common and bribes were abundant) Now, she walks in like she owns the place and sits patiently and participates as she is needed. That's technology, hard work and amazing professionals (our small village)! Here is a picture of Kylie's Aud...

Living La Vida Lum: August 2014

http://livinglavidalum.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Living La Vida Lum. Monday, August 18, 2014. First Day of Kindergarten. Hard to believe that Kylie started Kindergarten today! She has been attending elementary school for the last 2 and 1/2 years so today wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. She raced over to school, found her class, put her goodies in her cubby and sat right down at her desk. She was so ready! Thanks to Sandy Fox for the Poster Idea. Saturday, August 2, 2014. She's going to be a flower girl in Dani and Justin's wedding! Weight on M...

Living La Vida Lum: February 2015

http://livinglavidalum.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Living La Vida Lum. Saturday, February 21, 2015. Watch Out She's on Two Wheels. For the past few weeks, every time we go outside I encourage Kylie to ride her bike without training wheels. I have had one of those sticks in my Amazon cart for the last couple of weeks but I have been so busy I didn't order it. She was so excited I had to go in and get Po Po to see it and Po Po was nervous so she ran alongside her. Next she wanted to ride around our circle street for which we did fine. I am so proud of her!

Living La Vida Lori

Monday, August 30, 2010. In seventeen days my family and I will be experiencing a little r&r at this beautiful beach. Is it bad that I keep repeating the countdown to myself when I'm studying? Sunday, August 29, 2010. During my two week summer vacay for school I had a whirlwind of visitors: Josh, my g-parents, cousins, Aunt Joyce and Cal! Not only did I get to catch up with some of my favorite people, I also got to enjoy a special bonus through their visits: The Muny and a Cardinals Game! The next weeken...

Living La Vida Low GI. Thoughts and recipes on living a healthy lifestyle. One low GI meal at a time. Surviving a hurricane with spelt and squash. Posted by Julie Anne Leggett. I started with a recipe for Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread. Sprouted Spelt and Squash Quick Bread. Makes 2 large loaves. 2 c butternut squash puree. 1 c coconut oil (we have no cholesterol problems here - if that is an issue, sub vegetable oil). 2 c agave syrup. 2 c spelt sprouted flour. 1 3/4 c almond meal. 2 t baking soda. Living La Vida Mama

Grocery Budget Extreme Makeover. I recently made SCD cupcakes and since they can be tricky, thought I’d share them with you. I used the same SCD cake recipe. I used here, but omitted the lemon flavoring since I was out of it. And I used not only the same SCD buttercream frosting recipe. That I had used for the SCD birthday cake, but the actual batch of SCD buttercream that I had made for that cake. How have you decorated your SCD confections? Leave me a comment. I’d love to hear. Living La Vida Mitten | living life a bit differently…

Living La Vida Mitten. Living life a bit differently…. Today I join the ranks of those who ship out holiday presents to family in far-flung locations. To some, this concept is old-hat. These are the folks who may be a bit nervous hearing all the news that abounds about the post being backed up because so many more people are shopping online this year. I have no point of reference, so I’m just kind of going with it. Well, no. Full disclosure: I probably would cringe around every corner if I was a pack...

Living La Vida Mommy | Musings from a loving, crafty, dorky, awesome, latina mommy.

Living La Vida Mommy. Musings from a loving, crafty, dorky, awesome, latina mommy. Stage 3 Kidney Disease. August 10, 2017. After months of procrastinating, I was finally able to convince Abe to make a doctor’s appointment, just as a regular general check up, as one should generally do from time to time. He has very mild asthma, and needs to keep an inhaler on hand, the one he had was nearly empty. Overall, it was pretty uneventful. What do you think I did when I read that? Did you guess “Google th...
