The process from stretching my own canvasses to priming and getting started on an image is totally absorbing. For me the image comes first and has to stand alone without explanation. It may be that a story becomes apparent; possible references to other subjects may be alluded to. Essentially, interpretation such as there may be, is left to the viewer.
