small experiment in alchemy | Principally felt
https://lizseville.com/2014/06/04/small-experiment-in-alchemy
Experiments in life, decorative felt, nuno, knit felt and mosaic. Bags, beautiful bags. Small experiment in alchemy. It is always fun to experiment with new crafts. I treated myself to an experimental pack of art clay silver clay recently. However when I opened the box I found I actually had the tiniest packet of clay and some rather scary looking small size tools. The process sounds complex but in fact it is quite simple. After moulding the piece is dried and this you can do with an ordinary hair dryer.

Experiments in life, decorative felt, nuno, knit felt and mosaic. Bags, beautiful bags. I finally finished this cushion yesterday. I’m frankly a bit reluctant to say goodbye but you have been promised to a birthday girl. Happy birthday to Rosie. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Taulignan and the French silk industry | Principally felt
https://lizseville.com/2013/10/28/taulignan-and-the-french-silk-industry
Experiments in life, decorative felt, nuno, knit felt and mosaic. Bags, beautiful bags. Taulignan and the French silk industry. Here we are battling with rain with summer holidays long gone. But I’ve only just retrieved some of my photographs and some are worth sharing. In memory of a lovely holiday let’s take a quick visit to my favourite village in La Drome Provençal where gentle lanes, lavender and beautiful trees characterise the peaceful Taulignan. How is this wonderful fibre made? Silk is a truly a...

Experiments in life, decorative felt, nuno, knit felt and mosaic. Bags, beautiful bags. Whilst I am trying to cope with the heat, I’m still being inspired by african fabrics and taking a holiday from my beloved felt. And for those of you who wanted to know the name of the source of these lovely batik fabrics in the UK here is the link. The African fabric website. For the moment, I am busy stitching round the daisies, snails and turtles on my African batik table mats. This website provides information.

June 29, 2014. It is still my real love and that’s why I felt (no pun intended :-) a bit unfaithful. Still, I am not going to abandon the new things I have discovered but will try finding ways to integrate it all eventually. So what really excited me was an attempt to combine the bleach marking with some shibori techniques. Bleach and shibori detail. Bleach and shibori detail. I absolutely love the pattern this created it reminds me of flames in the night. And the latest project – coming out of the...

December 30, 2014. 8230;and still making things! So, here some images of what has been in the making:. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Some of the felt panels. Which started a while ago have developed in unexpected ways and will be combined into a ‘totem’ like wall hanging. And this is the ‘artsy’ bit 😉. Linen with bleachmarks, embellished with handmade wool felt and recycled beads, machine stitched lines (approx 40 x 30 cm). 3 thoughts on “ Still here…. December 30, 2014 at 14:22. Next Post →.

February 8, 2015. I have recently gone back to a previous design. I have to admit that this was very fiddly! But I think it is worth it – the result is neat and straight, a much cleaner finish which is likely to keep its shape under pressure much better than the original solution. And of course I am on the lookout for alternatives to the lollypop sticks – other forms of wood, or even metal…? Handmade felt vessel, 100 % Wool, 20 x 20 x 15 cm, wood and leather string. A change of scenery and fresh ideas | mostlyshadesofpurple
https://shadesofpurpleblog.wordpress.com/2013/09/08/a-change-of-scenery-and-fresh-ideas
A change of scenery and fresh ideas. September 8, 2013. An old necklace that I hadn’t really worn much was happily dissembled and the wooden beads used to secure the leather string while at the same time becoming an embellishment. Easy to do and looking fun! And this is the finished vessel – this time I used different shades in- and outside, with the one stripe pattern being repeated also in- and outside. Felt vessel fuchsia/aubergine square with beads. September 8, 2013 at 20:17. Enter your comment here.

Liz Seymour | Life in a five-adult, one-child, five-chicken, one-dog, two-cat, innumerable-bicycle anarchist collective house.
It started with a question…. The future is unwritten. May 26, 2008 · 1:46 pm. Anything will work if you let it. I ran into Lowell a couple of days ago down at the HIVE. Where he was helping out with the BikeMe! I was glad to see Lowell. Homelessness almost by definition makes people hard to track down, and Lowell is more difficult than some because he refuses to use email. How do you communicate with people then? I asked him once. He answered the question with patience. I talk to them. Tactics, I said.
