Lessons & Prices. Elstree Aerodrome has been in existence since before the Second World War. During the war, it was used to modify Halifax bombers. Following the war, the aerodrome returned to being used by the general aviation community and has been enjoyed by many of us ever since. The airfield accommodates several hundred aircraft; parked both outside and in hangars. The airfield caters for jet-powered aircraft as well as piston engine aircraft – having fuel facilities for both.
