Looking at Animation

Sunday, May 2, 2010. Sunday, April 25, 2010. This video is a music video for the song "Young Folks" by Peter, Bjorn and John. They are a Swedish indie rock band. I really like the video for this song (it also helps that this is one of my favorite songs right now.) I think animation works really well for music videos. It's interesting that foreign bands use animation for music videos much more often but I feel like animation works really well with it and should be utilized more often. Another thing that I...

Looking at Animation: Race in Anime

http://lookingatanimation.blogspot.com/2010/04/post-9-i-havent-been-exposed-to-much.html

Sunday, April 4, 2010. I haven't been exposed to much anime prior to Monday's class. My main experience was with Sailor Moon when I was a kid. My cousins always watched it but I never really liked it that much. One of the things I found interesting about it was that even though it is a Japanese style of animation it didn't appear to reflect Japanese. April 4, 2010 at 8:16 PM. Looking at Animation: Archer

http://lookingatanimation.blogspot.com/2010/04/archer.html

Sunday, April 18, 2010. I had heard of Archer but hadn't seen it until class on Monday. I really enjoyed it and plan to spend this summer catching up so I can watch it when it comes back on. I was struck by what an interesting style it has. I also liked that the animations had what I call the comic book style of animation. It reminded me of other things like Waltz with Bashir. Or the animated sequence in Kill Bill. That style worked really well with all the other aspects of the show. Ive got trademark pr...

Looking at Animation: Shoot 'Em Up

http://lookingatanimation.blogspot.com/2010/05/shoot-em-up.html

Sunday, May 2, 2010. May 2, 2010 at 6:25 PM. This is how I view first person shooter games as well. They suck you in and it really does feel like youre the one shooting. Ive never really been that big into first person shooter games for this very reason, though it doesnt really bother me when I see others playing them. I also have that same problem of having a game infiltrate my dreams after playing it so often! Its an interesting experience, and its also fascinating. May 3, 2010 at 12:49 AM.

Looking at Animation: February 2010

http://lookingatanimation.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 28, 2010. Walking on Pins and Needles. For this blog post I wanted to talk a little about something from a couple of weeks ago but I haven't had a chance to put in my blog yet. The pin board animations particularly struck because of how much detail the animators were able to get from just shadows. It was remarkable to me the knowledge someone would have to have about the way light works, they way pictures are made, and how each individual pin incorporates into the piece as a whole. By us...

Looking at Animation: January 2010

http://lookingatanimation.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 29, 2010. Todays video games are almost scarily realistic. It seems that in some areas of animations it so much more about what technology can do then art and magic of old hand drawn, beautifully painted animations of Disney princesses and others. If animations can become as realistic as live action then where does that leave either industry. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

The Cabinet of Master Wilson. 7 Celebrity Voices in Animation. March 15, 2010 by bwilzen. While reading the Davis article, I read a sentence that got me thinking on a tangent: “Another significant change was the number of celebrities being used to provide the voices for animated characters, helping to bring in the stars’ fans as well as providing a depth to the portrayals of various characters which was not often to be found in earlier films,” (. An easy example of this at work is in the. In the end, how...

FOR 10 years, one of a handful of civil servants who helped Lee Kuan Yew build today’s Singapore had been speaking bluntly about major issues that bothered him and probably other Singaporeans. A writer is an arrogant fanatic who pecks out words under the delusion that it means something and makes a difference. – Bob Lonsberry. Saturday, May 21, 2016. It's a months long hour of waiting. Taking another look at old books

Taking another look at old books. Times mean changing roles for rare books. Today, an antique book in a collection is less and less a unique source of information. Consequently, the book "as object" is becoming more and more important. For heritage libraries this can be a challenging transformation. Powered by Mijndomeinwebsitemaker.nl.
