UCR Department of Philosophy. Philip is currently completing a dissertation on free will and moral responsibility in which he defends incompatibilism about responsibility and determinism. Specializing in 19th century German philosophy, Professor Clark’s main focus has been on the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. She is currently finishing a co-authored book entitled Nietzsche’s Magnificent Tension of the Spirit, on Nietzsche’s philosophical psychology and why he writes the way he does.
