Learning Land: Watch out!
http://learningland.blogspot.com/2005/06/watch-out.html
Wednesday, June 01, 2005. We are going to be a karate family starting next Wednesday! Well, turns out that it is very much a 'family' set-up and the guy had the kids plus. Every family will be starting from scratch at this new location so we won't feel intimidated. They actually have HEAPS of groups throughout the city (and I think all of Australia). They focus on non-contact karate-do and work through a lot of self-defence situations which I think is good. Watch out world - don't mess with us! PS The re...

Learning Land: May 2005
http://learningland.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 27, 2005. Anyone care for a game of garden tennis? Last night we went shopping as there were some sales on at K-Mart. I bought Little Chicken a 'Pop-tivity Table' for just under $30 - save $20! She loves it and is even getting herself up onto her knees to play with the buttons, twirly bits, and musical button which also spins balls in the central dome. She loves musical things. BTW, I'm sure she is only days away from crawling! I jumped onto an upright stick - ouch! Thursday, May 26, 2005.

My Creative Side: Illustration Friday - Year of the Rooster
http://mycreativeside.blogspot.com/2005/02/illustration-friday-year-of-rooster.html
Thursday, February 10, 2005. Illustration Friday - Year of the Rooster. Illustration Friday - Year of the Rooster. Click on the picture to enlarge it for more detail. Seeing as we are changing from the Year of the Monkey to the Year of the Rooster, Monkey is helping Rooster to see the Chinese New Year in. I used coloured pencil but the colours are a bit dull for my liking. Posted by Learningland3 at 9:59 am. What an expression - Old Rooster there looks like he had a head start on the monkey though. Friday, January 28, 2005. Check out some of the sketches my 7-year-old daughter has done in the last two days while watching me attempt my own sketches. I'm pretty impressed. As for me.I have been busy sketching and I've started reviewing a couple of drawing books that I've owned since I was a teenager. I'm experimenting with different sized black pens (o.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 1.0 mm) and working on improving my shading skills (or lack of! Can't wait until Monday for my first Illustration Friday topic! DH was ...

Then we looked through the museum. Is this a Giant Petrel? Looks like one in a recent postcard we received. Is it lunchtime yet? J-bir...

Learning Land: June 2005
http://learningland.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 10, 2005. Ready or not.here I come. Today the boy next-door stayed home from school because they had car trouble and couldn't get him to school. He knocked on the door around 9 am this morning (I was still in my jammies) and the kids have been playing all day, even during bouts of rain. I called them in at 5 pm because it's getting dark by 5:30 seeing as it is Winter here. I did have to calm the playing down this afternoon when the other neighbouring kids finished school and joined in playin...

Learning Land: Camping Trip - Part 2
http://learningland.blogspot.com/2005/05/camping-trip-part-2.html
Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Camping Trip - Part 2. I stuffed up and sent the first photos before these were queued with them. Here is a cute pademelon - sort of looks like a cross between a wallaby and a possum. It hops and has a cute little face. We had never seen one before but saw quite a few on this camping trip. There were some pelicans hanging around the dam on our last few days so we think one may have eaten this tortoise. It was cool to see the inside of the shell though. View my complete profile.
