Sat 28th June – Scarborough armed forces day. Sunday 29th June – Old Warden (Flypast). Sat 5th and Sun 6th July – RAF Waddington. Visit the Vulcan days.

Back in the cockpit after too long! July 28, 2013. So it was great to be back at Cranfield at 8.30am on a Sunday so I could hit the skies again! It was just like riding a bicycle! Since it’s been a while we did some simple stuff to get my brain back into the cockpit. We did a couple of basic circuits (20kt headwind down the runway made sure my landings were nice and smooth! Then we did EFATO, low level circuit, a high glide and my final landing was meant to be a spot landing. Did you like this article?

Ex 19 – Basic Instrument Flying, wearing the foggles! May 7, 2011. Foggles, very stylish. I feel pretty dizzy and exhausted after today’s lesson. Got to wear these very exciting foggles which restrict your vision so all you can see is the instruments – no looking out the window today! After trying to do some maneuvers with my eyes closed, and realising how impossible that is, we started doing maneuvers where I could see the instruments. It was quite confusing at first, and required a lot of concentration!

Flying Revision – after 6 months on the ground! May 7, 2011. So after 6 months of not flying, I had my first lesson of 2011 on 22nd April. Because of my lack of recent flying, and being with a new instructor, the lessons was simply revision. We flew into the local area, did steep turns and also stalls in various configurations. Unfortunately a low cloud base meant we could not get into the local area, so we stayed on the ground and I got to see the royal wedding after all – hurrah…. November 11, 2012. It was a lovely clear day today – but on arrival at Cranfield there had been yet another accident – some poor bugger breaking a nosewheel and shock-loading an engine no doubt. Luckily the airport re-opened so I could begin. We planned a route from Stewarby to Grafham water, then to Corby, down toward Buckingham and back to Cranfield. As you can see from the map. The first 2 legs were great – nicely on track. But the leg from Corby was awful. What we did:Local Nav. Total so far….
