Our intention was to renovate it and move on but almost 30 years on, and after falling in love with the house and the location, we are still here! It became our family home where we brought up our three children (plus numerous dogs, cats, horses, sheep and chickens) and where we have offered Bed and Breakfast since 1991.

The ground floor living accommodation is open plan and patio doors lead out from the lounge and dining area to the walled private patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. There is also a full size tennis court and table tennis table available for use on-site throughout your stay. The Hayloft, on the first floor, the Stable and the Bullpen on the ground floor, all have comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms, the latter having features which make it suitable for disabled access and wheelchair users.

Lower House Barn is well situated for exploring the scenic Herefordshire countryside by car, including the Wye and Golden Valleys, Offa's Dyke, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. The beautiful Cathedral City of Hereford and the quaint, internationally renowned town of Hay-on-Wye, the 'town of books' and famous for the Hay Literary Festival hayfestival.com. Are both approximately 10 miles away and provide the perfect spot for a day trip.

Prices and Availability - Lower House Barn, Staunton on Wye

Short breaks (a minimum of three nights stay) are available throughout the year, apart from over the Christmas and New Year period and during the world famous Hay Festival hayfestival.com. Arrival time is 4pm, with checkout by 10am on the day of departure. Changeover day is Friday. An additional charge of 25 per week is payable per dog and a charge of 15 per dog during a short stay.
