I had a quite one this year, with one family member unwell but refusing rest (nana, you’re going to be tied down next) and one in Afghanistan it was more intimate and calmer. Well, minus one ambulance call out at 4am. It was just lovely to be around family. Oh and my mum spoiled me with my favourite perfume, Jo Malone’s English Pear and Freesia with body lotion! Spoiled. And now smelling like flowers. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

crumbs for dinner: Scallops with Butternut Purée and Sage
http://www.crumbsfordinner.com/2013/03/scallops-with-butternut-puree-and-sage.html
About Crumbs for Dinner. Thursday, 7 March 2013. Scallops with Butternut Purée and Sage. My husband doesn't really do birthdays, which for a long time has caused a little bit of a struggle between us. My family sees birthdays as an excuse to spoil and pamper the birthday boy or girl, which R is somewhat unused to. I think we've finally managed to strike the right balance, with me cooking him a nice meal and giving him not too many. A few sage leaves. 1 tsp pine nuts. Preheat the oven to 160 °C. Then peel...

About Crumbs for Dinner. Wednesday, 24 July 2013. Spinach and Feta Fritatta. Oh dear, it's been a while. Four months in fact. I can only blame work, which has been so ridiculously busy that I have lived off a diet of takeaways, oven pizza and whichever quick and easy pasta dishes I had to hand. Serves 8 as part of a salad) :. 1 medium red onion. 1 tsp olive oil. Preheat your grill and gently heat the frying pan over a medium heat. Add the onion and cook until just starting to turn golden, then add th...

About Crumbs for Dinner. Wednesday, 11 March 2015. Pasta with Chorizo and Pomodorino Tomatoes. In the spirit of trying to ease myself back into the world of blogging, I bring you this recipe which I made on Sunday night as I am currently in a hotel room in Leeds typing up notes from my various interviews. It's a perfect quick and easy weeknight supper, and I wish I was eating it right now instead of an M&S salad! 1 large eschalion shallot, finely chopped. 30g chorizo, chopped. 2 garlic cloves, chopped.

About Crumbs for Dinner. Friday, 22 February 2013. Spinach, Prawn and Salmon Curry. A deliciously quick and easy curry for a week night, and it's healthy too! I have been craving curry for ages, but had been holding off due to my bank balance still reeling slightly from the Christmas season. In the end I decided to make my own using what I had available in the fridge, and this was the result. 1 tbsp olive oil. 1 red onions, finely sliced. 2cm piece of fresh ginger. 1 tsp ground turmeric. Wow, nearly four...

About Crumbs for Dinner. Sunday, 28 July 2013. It is this kind of recipe that I love - food that someone else adores, and makes for you in the hope that you will fall for it too. 2 Turkish green peppers. 1 tbsp roughly chopped parsley. Juice of 1 lemon. 1 tbsp olive oil. Drain, rinse and then add the onion, roughly chop the parsley and then toss all the ingredients together. crumbs for dinner: September 2012
http://www.crumbsfordinner.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
About Crumbs for Dinner. Friday, 21 September 2012. Time for a change? When I first started this blog, two and a half years ago, I set myself two challenges: To break away from cooking the same, limited repertoire of dishes; to experiment; and hopefully become a better cook along the way. The other challenge was to use my by that point, extremely disused DSLR as I was no longer running around London photographing gigs. The options are this: I can either turn Crumbs for Dinner into a more general blog, or...
crumbs for dinner: October 2012
http://www.crumbsfordinner.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
About Crumbs for Dinner. Friday, 19 October 2012. Pear, Walnut and Blue Cheese Salad. This was my sister's course and was an absolute treat: crisp, autumnal pears, creamy Saint Agur and nutty, bitter walnuts. She used Saint Agur, but any blue cheese would work depending on your tastes - a pungent Roquefort or creamy Dolcelatte would both be delicious. As there's no cooking involved, it's very easy to put together. Perfect when you're a little short of time but still want to impress! 2 ripe Williams pears.
