O-H, the places we'll go: April 2015
http://jlopeterson.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
O-H, the places we'll go. Sunday, April 19, 2015. First in, first out. Owen lost his first tooth today! I wasn't expecting this to happen until he was closer to 6, but the tooth had been wiggling for weeks already. Unfortunately, he swallowed it with a bite of bagel at breakfast, but the tooth fairy was understanding and appreciative of his hand-written note. :). All of the under-5 soccer teams doing a group warm-up.). Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Spring in Texas, Austin Return. Just outside their neighborho...

O-H, the places we'll go: Wood and Water
http://jlopeterson.blogspot.com/2015/08/wood-and-water.html
O-H, the places we'll go. Saturday, August 1, 2015. The day after our adventurous hike, our church did a Habitat for Humanity house-framing build in their parking lot. We were broken out into about 10 teams and we knocked out (I think) 37 walls in a couple of hours. Owen even got to swing the hammer a few times. It was a hot morning, but they provided breakfast and lunch for us and lots of water! A few days after that, we picnicked at the park with friends after swim lessons. While eating our sandwic...

O-H, the places we'll go: July 2014
http://jlopeterson.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
O-H, the places we'll go. Monday, July 28, 2014. We've stayed close to home for July, and it's been pretty warm (for up north), so we've been trying to stay cool. Sometimes that means playing/drinking in the sprinkler,. Hiding indoors in the A/C,. Or traveling to the splash park. Owen loves it, but Hadley is still not sure about the big structure. Here she changed her mind at the last minute when Owen was going to help her up the stairs. Notice his look of bewilderment! Finally, for those interested, we'...

O-H, the places we'll go: September 2014
http://jlopeterson.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
O-H, the places we'll go. Tuesday, September 23, 2014. The Family That Bikes Together. Since Owen kicked the training wheels earlier this summer, we've all had to find a way to keep up with him, which meant bikes all around! We take a family bike ride around the neighborhood probably 3 times a week or so. September is perfect for that! Hadley enjoys the bike trailer, although she'd prefer to be on her (Owen's old) Strider. She is starting to pick up her feet to glide, so maybe by next summer! The highlig...

O-H, the places we'll go: Spring in Texas, Austin Return

O-H, the places we'll go. Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Spring in Texas, Austin Return. Our return flight was out of Austin, so we headed back there on Saturday to spend our last 30-ish hours in Texas near our old home. Our first stop was at the Tylers' house to recreate. From 2 years ago, this time outside with Juan. It was a little chilly and overcast, but the kids had fun playing outside and inside together. Perfect in another year. Our flight out wasn't until early afternoon, so we had all morning to find...

O-H, the places we'll go: November 2014
http://jlopeterson.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
O-H, the places we'll go. Saturday, November 29, 2014. Texas, Outdoorsy at the Ranch. I'm so glad that the kids and I got to have an early celebration with family in Texas. We spent close to a week at the ranch, so let's start there. I may have been a bit optimistic in traveling with two youngsters by myself, but they were really pretty great travelers! Though I have to mention that several bystanders at the local airport became aware of Owen's bathroom habits: "I'm wiping my butt! While I sort through o...

O-H, the places we'll go: July 2015
http://jlopeterson.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
O-H, the places we'll go. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Bikes, Hikes, and Falls. I was also surprised that Hadley enjoyed it so much, too. No injuries either! The kids had also received a free ride at Funland (our sad little seasonal amusement park) from the summer reading program at the library. Funland is just down from the skate park, so we opted to do that when we were done with our bikes. The kids loved it, but it made me a little depressed. :). We made it to the cave! It was even big enough to stand in a...

O-H, the places we'll go: February 2015
http://jlopeterson.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
O-H, the places we'll go. Friday, February 27, 2015. We've been enjoying the warmer temperatures this month by getting outside in the neighborhood parks more than usual this time of year. With or without friends, with or without wheels, it didn't matter. We take advantage of sunshine when we get it! Here's more of our brave girl up off the ground! Owen is getting excited about his upcoming soccer season! Put it in his head that goalie is the place to be. We'll see how that translates to the team. It seem...

O-H, the places we'll go: August 2015
http://jlopeterson.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
O-H, the places we'll go. Sunday, August 30, 2015. Ohio, Part 2. While the kids were having so much fun in the backyard with Oma, the parents opted to go for a hike in Hocking Hills with Papa. It was a little disappointing when Owen turned down the hike, but it was actually very nice to hike at an adult pace, with no cumbersome backpacks, snack load, extra potty stops, or whining (at least not much). Specifically, we hiked to Old Man's Cave. You can almost imagine the waterfall. Some trees' roots were de...
