PunkClown Daze: Fancy yourself as a poet?
http://punkclown.blogspot.com/2006/11/fancy-yourself-as-poet.html
This is the journal of an accidental absurdartist, amateur photographer, amateur astronomer, not a bad cook (again, amateur), husband, father, professional nurse and a real life pseudo-intellectual vegetable. Sunday, November 12, 2006. Fancy yourself as a poet? Here's my first effort (below) at afridge.com, a clever concept created by Joseph Pearson. A damn fine fellow. Posted by Cameron Stephen at 23:20. I like this way of creating poetry-. Here's a link to my weekly newsletter for nurses:. The Metaphys...

Ldquo; Jottin' to the Fullest. June 14, 2007. A few months back I scooped up a sweet domain name, vJot.com. But had no particular reason for doing so. I couldn’t have that, my parents raised me better. So, I built a tasty, little app during RailsConf to fill the void and boy was I happy. I mentioned its arrival on Twitter and managed to get eight people using it concurrently. Hot damn, I’m retiring to the Bahamas! It’s a simple note-taking app inspired by a sweet OS X. Jotter called Notational Velocity.

Because the world needs more overwrought candour. Monday, March 29, 2004. My first couple of comments! And my first mild flaming, as well. I prolly deserve it - some recent posts bordered on caddish. Stuff I've been thinking bout:. Car horns as language - beeps parallel the neanderthal grunting - simple, imprecise communication. What does a beep mean, exactly? Sure, "I'm not happy", but how unhappy? What, specifically, do you want me do to? Move to the right? Posted by Doug @ 3/29/2004 04:44:00 pm. I lov...

Because the world needs more overwrought candour. Sunday, April 25, 2004. In fact, I'm planning a cunning abduction, complete with forged note in kiddy writing - "Mum an DAd I'M LeaVing HoME. B.ye" - and a sheet twisted into an escape rope. They can have him back when he changes into a pimpled conduit for hormones in ten years time. Till then, he's mine. MINE. MIIINNE. Because the world needs more overwrought candour. Thursday, February 26, 2004. Posted by Doug @ 2/26/2004 09:20:00 am. Tuesday, February 24, 2004. Just got back from a week in the sun - Perth, my former hometown. Why we left I'll never know. Who'd give up permanent sun and a city on the sea for a drab, unsettled city across the other side of the continent? Posted by Doug @ 2/24/2004 07:52:00 am. Wednesday, February 11, 2004. Because the world needs more overwrought candour. Saturday, May 29, 2004. Like fences, like cages, clothes are double-edged, ambivalent; keeping the world out, protecting the wearer, but also raising barriers between people, ornamentation, buffers, fences. Without clothes, people unfold, and when clothes are shared against the world (a doona), this is when conversations are real, shorn of pretences and swagger. Posted by Doug @ 5/29/2004 11:54:00 am. Because the world needs more overwrought candour. Saturday, January 31, 2004. Photography - democratising history. It used to be that only the aristocracy had the cash and hubris to immortalise themselves in a portrait. Photography lets anyone immortalise themselves for a much cheaper price. Of course, the downside is that the currency of pictures has been devalued significantly (I have a number of photographs of my feet). Posted by Doug @ 1/31/2004 12:53:00 pm. Because the world needs more overwrought candour. Tuesday, December 30, 2003. 40 degrees today. House weather. No-one is on the streets; parks empty, houses full, aircon on. I spent some quality time floating down the river on a lilo, a favourite summer pastime. There's nothing quite like submitting to the slow, steady flow of the river. The rapids - normally a bit exciting - were too shallow to negotiate, and I hurt my hand trying to get down them. Posted by Doug @ 12/30/2003 02:32:00 pm. Glad to finish...
