As an exercise we had the sayings printed out on separate pieces of paper and were asked as a group to match them to the four different gospels. The seven sayings (in alphabetical order! And is it always a good idea? We followed this up by asking the question "Is Christianity fair? Also we we looked at a TED video Diane Benscoter on how cults rewire the brain. In which she talked about her experience of joining a cult and also how she left. It did raise the question, is the Church of England a cult?

We had an interesting discussion about the development of the doctrine of the trinity and how long this took to become the established view of the church, finally being decided at church councils 325 and 381.
