Thursday, March 24, 2011. What His Way Yields. However, when March 15th rolled around, I still hadn't really committed this verse to memory. so I gave myself a do over; my verse for March 15th was Psalm 86:11 in the NIV: "Teach me Your way, Lord, that I may rely on Your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart that I may fear Your name.". Way, Lord, that I may rely on Your. Faithfulness; give me an undivided heart that I may fear Your name.". My heart can be so divided; this much I know. And until tonigh...

http://consecratedintheword.blogspot.com/2008/11/hope-in-him.html
Thursday, November 13, 2008. One thing I've learned in some of my word studies is that the words translated as "hope" in the Bible have a meaning quite different from the way you and I use the word hope. Whereas general conversation these days uses hope to express something that we think could happen, that we would like to have happen, the Biblical word hope expresses something far more powerful. The words imply expectation, not just wishful thinking. Lord their God" Psalms 146:5 (NLT). Soif like me, you...

Friday, March 13, 2009. Hopeful, a Full Hope. Friends, I so apologize for my two-day absence! I found myself unexpectedly separated from my computer.and that, combined with a few other "life" factors had me leaving you high and dry. Please forgive! The good news is that I have 2 days of thoughts hopefully accumulating themselves into a substantive writing for today. We shall see, no? When I say, "I hope the sun is out tomorrow" (or whatever the example may be), I usually am thinking " that'd. Plan to see...

Monday, August 1, 2011. From Top to Bottom. Surprise surprise for a Monday. As I was reading this morning, a verse popped out at me - with a little thought tied to it. This was the passage: " And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, 'Truly this man was the Son of God! Mark 15:37-39, ESV). So, what's my big revelation today? This is...

Thursday, April 28, 2011. Holiness is in the Practical. I have had the incredible blessing and honor of helping to lead a group of women in a discipleship course for the last nine months. I've been through this course myself, and well, I knew going in that I'd be getting worked on as much as I'd be helping lead God's group. this coming week is our final meeting. Each week, I email the girls and give them an update on homework, memory verses, etc. this week, however, a. Oooh, oh oh oh oh. Foods I need to ...

Friday, October 14, 2011. Blindness and Our Need for Eyes to See. Hello friends and beloved children of the King! My amazing church does a monthly event called Night of Worship (NOW). It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like it might be: a night where all we do is worship! A powerful evening and I wholeheartedly believe it is a powerful tool is our corporate arsenal. So he would be able to really. God had more to talk to me about! We need to see the world with open eyes, whole vision and through eyes...

Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Resolved to being born again. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.". Is the key. And it's in the small, finite, one-at-a-time decisions that I submit. It's not a theory; it's a practice. And yes, I definitely need practice in order to get better at it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of you may l...

Monday, May 3, 2010. For a variety of reasons, I've been thinking more and more lately about letting God take the lead in new ways in my life. I've been learning and thinking and praying and studying about letting Him lead, and doing life His. So, speaking of segues. I've been thinking of the game "Follow the Leader" lately. Remember that one? Recess, circa 3rd grade? Yeah, that's the one. So, I realize this is a delightful story, but what's the point, right? And "Which path are you taking to get there?
