Diary of a left breast. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. One by one the milestones pass, and yesterday I paid the first visit to my hairdresser for about a year. You’d think I’d risen from the dead, but I understand that sometimes people over-compensate in word and gestures when they feel awkward – hey, I’ve done that myself often enough. I just had my very curly locks styled a little, and now it’s just me and my hair facing the world. It takes a long time for hair to grow. Let me know…. Monday, August 22, 2011.

Diary of a left breast. Friday, July 8, 2011. Yesterday I was marooned with a flat car battery in rain and freezing conditions, and waited patiently for a long time for help. Glenn. Finally arrived, genial in the wet conditions and efficiently replacing my battery so I could resume the day's activities. I thanked him, and as he stared meaningfully at my cap he replied: 'It's a pleasure to be of service to a lady in real distress! Sunday, July 3, 2011.
