Dido, Queen of Carthage: Introduction
http://www.marlowe-society.org/marlowe/work/dido/intro.html
Dido, Queen of Carthage. The Tragedy of Dido, Queen of Carthage. Is one of the two Marlowe plays that have received the least attention historically, both from a staging and a critical perspective. But whilst The Massacre at Paris. Is only extant in what is believed to be a 'reported text', Dido. Has no such excuses for being unjustly neglected. That state of affairs has changed, however, in more recent years. As long ago as 1919. Described the play as underrated. In many ways, Dido. That it was sometime...
The Massacre at Paris: Introduction
http://www.marlowe-society.org/marlowe/work/massacre/intro.html
The Massacre at Paris. The Massacre at Paris. The Massacre at Paris. Is without doubt the play of Marlowe's that has received least attention historically both from a staging and a critical perspective, and justifiably so. It is only extant in what is believed to be both an abridged and 'reported' text, a single undated Octavo version, published by Edward White almost certainly some time between 1594. The result is a play text approximately half the length of Edward II. The Jew of Malta. And the subseque...

The Marlowe Society Marigold Emblem
http://www.marlowe-society.org/society/marigoldemblem.html
The marigold emblem (shown right) adopted by the Marlowe Society was drawn by our Art Director, June Everett. In 2003, and has since adorned the front cover of both the Society's publications - the Newsletter. And the Research Journal. The inspiration for the Society logo was the woodcut that appeared on the title page of Christopher Marlowe's poem Hero and Leander, as completed by George Chapman. And published in 1598. And dedicated to Sir Thomas Walsingham. On a relatively opaque symbolic level, the tw...

http://wtf-shakespeare.blogspot.com/2016/06/fooled-by-folio.html
Thursday, June 30, 2016. Fooled by the Folio. The paradigm is shifting. Current Shakespeare scholarship is catching on: "For many in the profession today, Shakespeare. Was not an author with a literary career. But because constructed as such in the 1623 First Folio. And then by subsequent generations." Shakespeare and Spenser: Attractive Opposites. Oxford U. 122 (page link). This is because—during his lifetime—there is no evidence that Stratford's. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). One For the Books.

An Internet WebQuest on the Shakespearean Authorship Question. Who really wrote William Shakespeare's plays and sonnets? The obvious answer to this question is the actor from Stratford-upon-Avon who goes by the name of William Shakespeare, or is it Shakspere like it appears on his baptism record and as a signature on his will?
WTF Shakespeare: Stop Calling Shakspere "Shakespeare"
http://wtf-shakespeare.blogspot.com/2016/08/shakespeare-vs-shakspere-end-madness.html

In MSC blog illustrates a key reason why it matters what name we use when referring to the Stratford actor. But I think you guys do need to recognise that *superficially* it sounds supremely nuts to say 'Shakespeare didn't write his plays, Marlowe did'. Because an obvious first reason for assuming authorship is the presence of the name on the title page. Was publ...

The Obliquely Subtracting Stealth - Marlowe
The Obliquely Subtracting Stealth. Dear Hearts And Gentle People.

1920 Bitwa Warszawska - 3D, czyli 3 razy do D. Oddane głosy: 3 / 0.
