Cammy and Ozzy stand in front of the unwashed masses (an old racist, a football hooligan, a transgender student, a used car salesman, a farmer, etc.). CAM: Ozzy, how are we gonna get Joe Public on our side? OZZY: Tax the bastards. CAM: Obvs, but how else? CAM: Okay, now something I wasn’t already gonna do. Now I’ll ...

Procrastination is my Evil Best Friend. Just a quick note…. April 8, 2014. I have added a new page to my site filled with quotes that I find inspiring. I’m hoping this will grow and change as I find more to add to it. Feel free to have a browse. On another note – I’m so over Lent right now! No chocolate for 4 weeks. I’m sure I’m going slowly crazy without it…10 days and counting! Happy writing everyone. X. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it. JM Barrie, Peter Pan. And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it. You have brains in your head,. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own,. And you know what you know,. Dr Seuss, Oh! The Places You’ll Go. You are comme...

My co-written sitcom: a readthrough. September 9, 2016. Unbelievably excited to be part of a seven-strong writing team who have spent months developing a new sitcom. It’s a borderline surreal comedy cop shop following two mid-Wales officers: Cadi and Lleucu. Here’s your episode checklist:. We have a specially selected audience coming along to a full episode read-through with professional actors. We’ll be listening to how it performs live and watching for audience reaction. My perfect writing spot. A Ling...

December 8, 2016. Still reeling from an amazing evening at BAFTA HQ in Piccadilly where my winning film script The Colour Room. Was performed in front of a packed audience of industry professionals. In summary the event goes something like this:. The second read-through, with director Nat Luurtsema. And then the fun! We headed to the bar and I networked with people who were interested in reading the full script, some of whom wandered over to speak to me and some sprinted! Follow me on Twitter. What’...

What’s my style? March 6, 2017. It’s reassuring to see that successful writers don’t just stick to one genre. OK so M Night Shyamalan’s doing. Occupying the twisty thriller genre but the man’s got form elsewhere. In 1999 he wrote two films: Sixth Sense and Stuart Little. Did that little mouse see dead people? No he did not. He drove small cars and annoyed cats. So, perhaps, more writers should think themselves out of one box and into many. Cinema is talent led. February 22, 2017. February 22, 2017. I wen...

July 26, 2016. There are only so many days in a row you can sit at home alone. And write. I’m hoping that converting the outbuilding at the end of my garden is going to completely transform my writing regime but until then, to avoid total madness, I take myself off to my local coffee shop. Just to be near people. To remember what they sound like. And to fritter my income on mixing-bowl size coffees and stale biscuits. And for the first hour it’s great but then. That put me right off.
