To enhance my Phantom, I have added a video downlink, based upon a Boscam 25mW transmitter, on-screen display of flight data via an OSD Mini module and a Black Pearl monitor with built in dual receivers. The monitor is fitted via a bracket onto the radio control transmitter, so the operator (Me! Can maintain visual contact with the quadcopter and still easily view the video coming from the on-board camera.

C) 2014 Matt Jarvis. d vulputate. I am really enjoying flying my quadcopter. It’s a DJI Phantom 2, fitted with a 3D, 3 axis gimbal and GoPro Hero 3 Black edition camera. This makes for a simple to fly, super quality rig, all for less than 1500 all in. A video downlink allows me to see what I am filming. The day we went, it was quite windy, so flying was quite a challenge! Once these houses are finished, I won’t be able to fly over this area, so I took the chance while they were still being constructed.
