My main focus is on the web, developing applications written using Microsoft .Net via C# and MVC. So I dabble in html, javascript, and css. I'm also not afraid to get grease under my nails while enjoying a beverage among friends and family. I'm 41. Years old and have been on the internet since 1995. Provider is not a pattern

No, it has nothing to do with DI, but as it tries to mimic loose coupling I can understand the confusion. First things first. Let's start with the name. Is it a pattern at all? Regular readers of this blog may get the impression that I'm fond of calling everything and the kitchen sink an anti-pattern. That's not true because I only make that claim when I'm certain I can hold that position. That aside, however, I want to explain why Provider is bad design:. It uses the Constrained Construction anti-pattern.
