Physical Chemistry—hotness and coldness – Foundations of Physical Science

Foundations of Physical Science. Just another WordPress site. Physical Chemistry hotness and coldness. When I start into heat capacity I contrast the temperature of a substance with the feeling of hot and cold. A thermometer will tell you the temperature of a substance, but that does not tell you how much heat is present. If you touch something, you can tell if it is hotter or colder than your hand, but what about two substances at the same temperature? That energy is stored in chemical bonds it is not.

Foundations of Physical Science. Just another WordPress site. Physical chemistry-Where is chemical energy stored? One question I pose every year to my physical chemistry class of life science students in the first lecture is Where is chemical energy stored? Almost all of them say in chemical bonds. Ask how the energy is released, and they say When bonds are broken. Almost all of them say in chemical bonds. Ask how the energy is released, and they say When bonds are broken. They realize. So they get it.

L: Wave AND Particle Duality: Coherences AND polarizations – Foundations of Physical Science

Foundations of Physical Science. Just another WordPress site. L: Wave AND Particle Duality: Coherences AND polarizations. That 2D spin carries polarization along two axes and each axis contributes 2 correlation to the CHSH form of BI. Hence this spin, I will show, accounts for all the correlation, 2 2, that violates BI. This definitely goes contrary to Bell’s theorem, and as a result, non-locality is history. The question comes down to this: wave or. Particle , or, wave and. EPR make perfect sense except...

Physical Chemistry—how to get the math across? – Foundations of Physical Science
http://quantummechanics.mchmultimedia.com/2013/physical-chemistry/physical-chemistry-how-to-get-the-math-across
Foundations of Physical Science. Just another WordPress site. Physical Chemistry how to get the math across? Thermo does take time to become familiar and I try many ways to get these ideas over. I think that it helps some when I tell them that when I was a student taking thermo, I failed my first midterm. Which is harder, chemistry of physics? It is generally accepted that physics is harder because of the math. After the first midterm, I order the grades in Excel and look for those with 60% or less. ...

A Local Realistic Reconciliation of the EPR paradox – Foundations of Physical Science

Foundations of Physical Science. Just another WordPress site. Category: A Local Realistic Reconciliation of the EPR paradox. A Logically Non-locality makes no sense. Non-locality, going back to Isaac Newton. Has always been unacceptable, at least until modern times. Instantaneous action-at-a-distance is physically unpalatable and always belies a deeper theory. So why does almost every physicist believe in it? To be clear, I do not suggest that Bell’s Theorem. The point is, I cannot accept that Nature is ...
